Question about Proview PL713S 17" Flat Panel LCD Monitor

1 Answer

When energized, screen stays on for about two seconds then blanks

Pl913s is plugged into HP Pavillion Computer. Repeatedly we disconnedted Video cable; the Green Power Light stays on when energized, and the NO INPUT dialogue boxes comes on then goes off when source is removed. I replaced PL with my old monitor and I'm doing this task. I took monitor back to Staples and we plugged it in and each time the screen came on for a moment then died to black. The system has been in my possession approximately 2 years and five months. Is there a warranty fix for this or am I on my own.

Hi...there,
Well, it's seems your monitor backlight inverter are bursted. Usually, the monitor had a 1 year for the screen panel and 3 years for parts and labors. You're still under warranty, send it back to manufacturer for repaired.

My hp touchsmart310 PC will switch on but there is nothing on the screen ?

You can perform these steps even though the screen is blank.
  1. Turn off the computer, and then remove the power cord.
  2. With the power cord disconnected, press and hold the power button for five seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord, and then turn on the computer.
  4. Repeatedly press the F10 key about once every second for five seconds after turning the computer on.
  5. Wait five seconds.
  6. Press the F5 key. This restores the default settings of the BIOS.
  7. Press the Enter key. This accepts the changes.
  8. Press the F10 key. This opens the Save and Exit window.
  9. Press the Enter key. This saves the changes, exits the BIOS, and then the computer restarts.
  10. After the computer restarts, the screen should display the HP logo.
Hope it helps!

Screen stays lit for 2 seconds and then goes blank

The problem can be bad caps (bulging top) which is more likely, or bad backlight inverter circuits. Check to see if you do have 12vdc or no bad caps, see example of failed monitors due to bad caps: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums

HP L1706- screen is blank when I switch on

First if you have a extra monitor try to plug it in and see if it works. If not then check your video card. or get into the computer and try and remove and reseat the memory. Sometimes by just doing that can solve the problems

Screen displays fine for a second, then goes blank

Dor, BenQ has a 3yr warranty on their monitors. I would contact their tech support and receive an RMA to return it for repair. It will cost you shipping out there but they will ship it back. I has a BenQ FP731 myself and it blew a capacitor inside that allowed the screen to stay on. Fixed it and had it back in 5-7 days. Good luck.

Monitor works on one computer, but not the other

The problem is not your monitor, but the video card on your computer that it doesn't work on. If the video output on your computer is built in, residing near your keyboard / mouse ports, you can purchase another video card to put into your computer and connect your monitor up to that instead. If it attaches to a separate card inside your computer, just replace it. There are three kinds you can get, AGP, PCI, or PCIe. Make sure you get one that will fit inside your computer.
