Please provide the model number of the player so I can look up the instructions and see what is what. Did you change from normal video (single yellow lead) to composite?

Again change all the settings what you did to adjust the video output.and check if the remote buttons are functioning.then try again to set the video. as something must have setted wrong when you first time changed the settings and this happened.
hope this helps........

Leave it unplugged over night to let all of the power drain from it so that it can completely reset itself. Try it and you should be able to do what you need to.

Has anyone been able to locate schematics for the power supply in this thing? The undersized power supply seems to the main point of failure. Otherwise, I have been pleased with the unit. Mine was sent back to Polaroid for RMA back in February 2008. I don't think any warranty is in effect now.
Please let me know if any one has tried to trouble shoot the TOPOW DVD RW POWER857B power supply. Two of the chips I can not identify are the 8pin Dip 2216A & a 4in dip 7703

I have tried to locate the power supply manufacturer: Shenzhen Topow Electronics Co., Ltd. Their website ishttp://www.topow.com.cn but my web browser can't handle the Chinese to English translation.

I think it is very likely that an AT or ATX power supply could be substituted if all the pinouts of the original power supply are known.

**Both times, my unit failed shortly after the fan started making noise. The problem has to be heat related.

Check for any bulging capacitors specially the big green onces at location CE10 in power board. If any of the capacitor is bulging then you need to replace them. This will need some soldering skills. You can get capacitor from Ebay. I am not able to find these in RadioShack near my location.

My ps3 does not transmit video or audio on any cords

Reset Video Output

If you are changing cables or cannot see an image on the screen, you may need to reset the video output to default settings. To reset the video output:
  1. While the PS3 system is in standby mode (red light on the front of the system), hold down the touch-sensitive On/Off button on the front of the system until the PS3 beeps a second time (approximately 5 seconds), then release it.
  2. The PS3 will power up, the Video Output Settings will automatically reset to the standard resolution (or detect the current display output settings of your TV/monitor).

I want to set up my dav-fr10w to 'interlace' option so i can play the dvd's on my tv, but it's set to 'progressive' right now and the instruction manual doesn't give the specific information to change it....

Hi,
To cancel Progressive scan output or to change output to interlace signal format, follow these steps..

1- Select DVD by pressing Function button on unit.
2- While holding down |<< (review) button, press Function button on unit.

This will change output signal to interlace/ composite video output from yellow pin/ S-Video.
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.

Messed up hdd settings, blue screen when i hook it up to my tv.

Yea,

You could try a different LCD TV, and use it to set it back to its old settings. Or try using the composite (yellow connectors from 359T output to video in on tv) then switch the tv to video input on remote, which should allow you to at least see the menu to change the resolution back to something your LCD will work with.

Auxillary channel for dvd

You need to determine what output options your DVD player has. Take a look at the rear of the player. It will certainly have RCA jacks for video and audio outputs (yellow for video, red and white for right and left channel audio). It may also have RCA jacks for component video (marked Y, Pb and Pr). Finally, it may have a threaded connector marked "out to TV" or "antenna out" or something similar. This is called RF output.

Most players today don't offer RF output because nearly every TV has direct AV inputs available. If your DVD player has RF output, connect the output connector to the TVs antenna input. You need a coaxial cable with F-connectors on the ends. One may have been supplied with the player. RF output is on channel 3 or 4, set by a switch on the back of the player or by its on-screen setup. Just set the TV to that channel to watch a DVD.

If your player doesn't have RF output, you connect it to the TV using the AV jacks. You need cables with RCA plugs to to connect the video and audio from the player to the TV. Then you switch the TV to its video input to watch the DVD.

This is where you might run into problems. Many TVs need the original remote control to switch inputs. (Some older RCA sets used channels 90, 91 and 92 to switch to their video inputs so any remote would work, but these sets were made before 125-channel tuning became standard. If your set is one of those models, those are the auxiliary channels you heard about.) If you can't switch the set to video input with front panel buttons and you don't have the right remote, you're not completely out of luck.

If you can't use your set's AV inputs or it just doesn't have any, you need an RF converter. These cost around $15. They take the audio and video from the DVD player and convert it to channel 3 or 4. Then you hook that output to your TV as described above.

Changed video settings

Yes, click "Video" button on the remote several times. It will cycle through the different video outputs and modes and land on the right one. I guess you're seeing a black screen with little dashes floating diagonally across the screen.

connect an rca connection cable on the yellow video output on your dvd player to your tv, grab your tv remote and select that input, then go to the setup menu on your dvd player and change the settings.

Vidoe output is funky

Straight from Playstation3.com Support/troubleshooting section:

"
  • If the video output settings on the PLAYSTATION®3 do not match those of the cable or TV in use, there may be no picture. If the screen goes blank, turn off the system.
  • Then, with only the PLAYSTATION®3 and the TV connected, touch the system's power button for more than 5 seconds to turn the system back on. The video output settings will automatically be reset to the standard resolution."
