Have you looked at disk #2 to make sure no scratches or sticky fingerprints?? Usually when you get an error on 2nd media its issues with this and or when you boot to fist disk goto utilities and check the hard dirve to see if its not failing at a point also make sure your doing a full restore and not archieve install

If you have another MAC computer available, you can create a USB key to solve this problem:

http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/apple-in-the-enterprise/how-to-create-a-bootable-usb-to-install-os-x/

If not, I'm afraid you will have to turn to an authorized apple service center. They will do the repair for you.

I want to know master password, Because I forgot password of ibook G4.

Unfortunately, the only way to recover your password is to make a new one. To do this you will need to re-install your operating system by inserting the OS disc that came with your computer. If you have lost this then you will need to purchase an OS disc. Snow Leopard can be purchased for $40 here from Amazon.com. Hope this helped!

Your hard drive is failing or has some bad sectors. You can get HDD Regenerator software and run it and it most of the time will regenerate the bad sectors causing problems such as yours. If that doesn't work then your hard drive is failing. Also the install disc may be corrupt/scratched causing the error as well. The OS freezing at startup also indicates the hard drive is bad.

I cant get my ibook g4 to run it turns on with blinking folder

Blinking ? mark folder means that your OS can't be found. Take out your RAM underneath the keyboard and re-insert and try again. Nothing? Install a different new RAM chip and try again. Nothing? Install your disc 1 install disc, power down, wait a few seconds, now press the power button to turn on, now press and hold the option button, until your disc 1 shows up, select it, and bring your pointer to the right arrow on the screen and press enter. Now your booting from the disc 1. Go to disc utility folder at the top of the screen and select your hard drive and then select repair disc permissions. Then shut down and reboot when finished. Nothing? Your hard drive is fu.k.d-Try re-installing the OS. Nothing? Your hard drive is really fu.k.d-You need a new hard drive. Installing a new hard drive in the iBook is a *****. You may want to pay someone to install a hard drive or you can just get a new laptop.

Get the gray OS discs specific for the PowerBook. Your iBook gray discs won't work. You can also install the OS by getting a black label retail version disc of whatever cat you like- Panther or Tiger. If the software installs, but you hear noises or get the spinning beach ball of death, then the hard drive is fu.k.d up. You then have to open up the computer and install a new hard drive and re-install the OS. Good luck old chap. Cheers.

On start-up, (from HD or CD) I get the Apple, then "unable to fin

This is the message you see when a version of OS X has been installed on a Mac that needs a later version of OS X at minimum, or when the custom gray install disc for one model of Mac has been used to initialize another model of Mac.
You posted this under "iBook G4," and the platform in the error messages says "PowerBook." Provided you posted in the right place, that confirms the above diagnosis.
Initialize your iBook with the proper gray disc, or a retail OS X installation disc, and it will operate properly.

IBOOK G4

You may have a RAM problem. One of the most serious problems that can afflict your Mac is "bad memory" -- the common term for a defective RAM chip.
Apple provides Apple Hardware Test with every new Mac -- it's either on the Mac OS X Install/Restore disc, or on a separate Hardware Test disc.

Here are the instruction on how to run the Apple Hardware Test CD:

http://support.apple.com/kb/TA25668?viewlocale=en_US

copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
