Manual nav-40

Hi!

Here's the link to your manual (pdf)
http://www.standardhorizon.com/?cmd=showMarineManuals&DivisionID=3

Scroll about halfway down the page and you'll find portable GPS. Your unit is there.

Hope this helps.
Happy Boating!

Tip

What do you mean by hold the bottom right corner of the screen. It isnt a touch...

1- Turn off unit.  2- press and hold the bottom right corner of the screen. 3-While still pressing and holding bottom right corner, press and hold power button and continue holding both until a white screen appears with a black dot. 4- follow the on screen directions and your unit will be back to the day you first got it.

Screen says c card invalid

Your best bet here would be to either head for a marine chandlery that handles these C-Cards and have them plug yours into one of their chartplotters or a vessel nearby that uses the same cartridge.

If your card works on theirs chartplotter, the problem lies within your CP150. If they get the same fault displayed as you do on your unit, for some reason the Card has a fault.

Hope this helps.

It does not aquire satelites, a new aerial has been fitted and everything else seems ok.

Check voltage at the plotter antenna outlet. It should be at least 5 Volts .if not you have a blown internal fuse

Standard horizon 155c not acquiring signal

If the signal is good statement seems to imply that it is working, perhaps this is my misinterpretation of what you mean by this.
Signal refers to the abi;ity to connect to satellites
4 are requied for triangulation.
If the unit is fully charged and not connecting , then it is quite possible that the unit has a damaged SIIRF chip or whatever chip was used in your model to acquire satellite connection. The cost of repair is costly, it means total replacement of the M/Board.
Never start car with the unit connected into DC car power, spikes will damage the chip

I am trying to delete all tracks/routes on CP180 Standard Horizon

reading your owners manual (link provided at below) , i see you can delete / edit points one at a time or a faster way format the C Card.

** formatting the c card instructions >

1.) press MENU , move the shuttle point knob to highlight USER POINTS , and press ENT .
2.) move the shuttle point knob to highlight USER C CARD, and press ENT .
3.) move the shuttle point knob to highlight FORMAT ,
and press ENT .
4.) a popup warning window will pop up to confirm you want to format the user C card .
5.) select YES , and press ENT to confirm , (select NO otherwise) .
NOTE : formatting the user c card erases all files previously saved on the c card .

Orientation

It is not likely that there is a software error that could cause that problem so I'm going to cover some basic information first. Forgive me if I'm covering stuff you already know. There are 3 chart orientation modes, North Up, Heads Up, and Course Up. North Up you already know! In Heads Up mode, the chart will only orient heads up when the boat is moving. Unless you have an electronic compass interfaced to your GPS it has no way of knowing which way you are facing. Once you start to move, it compares your new position to the old position to determine which way is heads up. If you are not moving, the map defaults to North Up even if you are in heads up mode. Course Up mode is commonly mistaken for Heads Up. In Course Up mode, the GPS orients the top of the screen toward a waypoint that you have told the GPS to go to. If no waypoint is selected, the GPS will default to North Up orientation. So I guess what I'm saying is, make sure the boat is moving, and make sure you're not in course up mode (unless you want to be).

In the unlikely event that there is a software error causing this problem, it can easily be fixed by getting an update from Standard Horizon. You can either get them to send you an update chip, or download it online and copy it to a blank C Map card. When you turn the GPS there will be a message on the opening screen that identifies you software version. Get that information before you call Standard.
