Our Uniden 5.8GHz phone goes dead when talking. Batteries are fully charged. If i unplug the adaptor from the wall and plug it in again it will work again , It may work for 5 minutes, or 5 days.

I have an old ITT series 500 rotary desk phone and need to get the faceplate off to put a new phone # under it. How do I take the faceplace off?

Oh stop it! Just buy a new phone LOL

This is really testing my memory, but grab a paper clip and straighten it out (you don't want to have to buy a dial tool for one phone, do you?).

Here's the trick. Rotate the dial to the 0 position and look under the finger stop in the center ring! Ooh, see that hole? Push your paperclip into the hole and keep rotating the dial clockwise.

Now, to put it back, slide the dial back in so that hole for the 1 is between the 1 and the finger stop and turn it counterclockwise until it snaps into place!

Yeah, I'll sell you my dial tool for $5 bucks :-)

Unavailable and no dial tone usually means that there is a bad wire between the base and the wall or the wall jack is bad.

No dial tone both units

You have almost left no stone unturned. It is either a bad base station or a bad cord between the base and the jack. Try a new cord.

I am having problem with my cordless phone.

Another tip is to remove the battery from the handset for at least 5 seconds. You might want to get a voltage meter and check the voltage on that new battery - maybe it isn't charging properly.

Phone Not Working

I have had the same problem before and now again for the last week...I finally remembered what I did last time to solve it!

I put my "unavailable" Handset into the main cradle and left it there for a slow count of 20. That has reset the unavailable handset and returned the dial tone etc.

Maddening isnt' it!

Cordless phone keeps reading, "lift handset"

This would normally happen when the cordless handset was still in the charger stand. Are you saying it will still tell you to lift the handset after it's removed from the charger stand or base? I would not waste money buying a new battery as it is most likely not the problem but if you have more than one handset you should try swapping batteries. Removing and re-inserting the battery may reset the phone and clear up the problem as well.
