Re: 50" Plasma Fijitsu TV

Since the set is a Plasma, the set does not use a lamp. You have an extended service policy, then you should use it. However, make sure it doesn't power on at the set. If it is a remote issue, the warranty company may not pay for that repair. IMHO

You should go to the audio menu and make sure your not in the SAP(Second Audio Program) mode. also check around at the other features in that audio menu. If still does not work, there is a 3 year warranty on this model. Call up where you bought it and find out who to call for service. Good Luck Ps Please dont forget to rate this thread.

I turn on the Tv the sound comes on & the picture is blank Cablevision was here & said it's a problem in the set

He is probably not an expert (just kidding, of course he's not..) First, try connecting the Cablevision Box to another TV (if you don't have another HD TV, use the yellow/white/red Composite connection.) If there is still no picture, the box is no good. If there is, then try a different output from the Box or other inputs on the TV. Are you using HDMI (HD connection) out of your Box? Is the TV 720p or 1080p? Set the Box up (from the menu) according to the specs of your TV. Hope I helped.

Sound but no picture

there are several things that it could be. if connected to a stereo and tv is turned off, will get audio no video. also check cabling, if have a different set of cabling, try that, make sure all connections are tight, no crack/breaks in cable. if you have a satellite box the signal may need refreshed. you would contact satellite provider to refresh the signal (this may also be done on their website) (it is something that has to be done on their end) or also if you have satellite box, try resetting (some models have door you can open on front panel with red reset inside) others require "hard reset" by unplugging for 15 seconds and plugging back in.

Is tv an HD tv

Yes, mostly all new displays are at least 720p which display a great picture ! However, coax cable is the worst possible cable you can use. Your best bet for HD from the cable box is to use component cable. These are the 3 RCA type colored cables, red, green and blue. You will also need another two RCA cables for the audio, which is usually red/black or red/white. If you have a surround sound receiver, then you will not need the 2 for audio to the TV. These 2 would goto the receiver or you can use a better digital coax or optical cable for audio.
Also, HDMI from the cable box to display is a more expensive cable which will give you HD but doesn't always look better then component on some HD cable boxes.

Picture goes blank but audio on

If you are using component cables to connect your HD box to TV. Make sure your connections are tight. You should make the colors match up. Green, Red, Blue. Check on both TV and HD box. Make sure HD pox is powered on. Make sure to select TV input to Component 1 or whichever you are using. If this doesn't work you may need to call and have COX refresh the HD box. This can be done over the phone. This will make sure you are receiving and sending the proper signal level. Good luck

ok your tv does not come with the very best sound, you have to get a receiver 7.1 or you can use the optical wire , that's if the system you are using has that option.
