Question about Two-Way Radios
I have two Motorola Talkabout T5700's and two Audiovox GMRS 1582CH's.
If I transmit from the T5700 it is received on the 1582, but if I transmit on the 1582 it is not received on the T5700.
Both claim to be GMRS. Is it that I am on the wrong channel range? Or is there some items in the menu's that I can fix to get them to communicate?
Most radios of this series would have Interference Eliminator Codes. The codes eliminate other incoming transmission not with the same code (number). There could be similar radios working on the same channel/frequency, but if they do not have the same code then neither one would hear each other. This does not make a channel "private", rather it limits what one can hear on that channel to another radio with an identical setting of the code. In some Motorola models, pressing the Menu button until the small numbers/code flashes would enable them to be changed. To change, press the + or - keys. Pressing the MON key or setting the code to Zero would enable the radio to receive and sound off all incoming signals with or without the code.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
