Re: no operating system found
This is caused by :- 1. Your hard disk has failed. 2. Your BIOS settings for the hard drive has been altered 3. Your hard drive has been wiped or someone or a virus program that has deleted critical files.
Go into your BIOS setup to check the hard disk settings, if possible see if it will auto detect the hard drive.
Also boot up with a DOS disk run FDISK to see if you can detect a hard disk, partitions etc.
If the hard disk appears OK you may be able to do a disk repair, most likely you would need to re-install the operating system and the laptop drivers for video, audio, LAN, modem etc.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

Hi If your laptop says Operating System not found then you need to install the operating system. It is easily available in any Local Computer Shop. Just insert the CD in the laptop and try to start the computer it might ask some detail just follow the instruction on the screen and it will automatically install the Operating System. The Common Examples are Windows Xp, Vista, and Win 7. You can use anyone as you want. But I will suggest to use windows xp.
Thank you. If you have any trouble do come back in fixya
Hi, For that problem, do this first check-up your bios setting. Power on your PC laptop, when screen popped up (press F2, delete etc. ) to get into standardbios Setup you see there if your hardisk drive detected or not detected. if not detected try to open your Laptop PC ( need power off. open cover at the back of your laptop ) check-up your hardisk drive for loose power cable, data cable hardisk Some burn , noise hardisk sound ) if detected, your operating system corrupted. you need to Reinstall your operating system like windows xp, windows 7 or linux base operating system. try that Solution first.
Just let me know if not yet working your laptop PC. Regard.
Unfortunately it sounds as if the hard drive is clicking and not detecting because it has failed. At this point you will need to locate the operating system media for your system and purchase a new hard drive and start from scratch.
Windows XP, right? Click on start, shutdown and then restart!
Is the laptop frozen? Hold down the power button for about 5-10 seconds until power shuts off. Just press the power on again to get it to start back up. Make sure you can NOT reset soft before cycling power on your laptop because you can lose/corrupt data during a cold boot.
