Question about Boston Acoustics TVee Model Two TV Speakers
My remote does not work at more than five feet distance from the TVEE by Boston Acoustics. Is there a fix for this problem?
Get yourself a very thin and small screwdriver. The type that comes in the eyeglass repair kits. Remove the cloth/plastic grill from the front of the sound bar. Locate the IR sensor in the center of the bar. Pry the dark red filter off the IR sensor and leave it off.
Problem solved, greatly increases range. I have read that there is a clear replacement cover you can buy but whats the point?

I can't get my soundbar to sync with my samsung tv remote. When I tried to pair the mute button it didn't work. The mute on my remote control now increases the volume!

I was about to pack the unit up return it when I found the suggestion to pry the IR sensor cover off with a tiny screw driver. This sounds damaging, but it wasn't. There is a little bit of glue around the perimeter, but I applied some consistent light pressure and it popped off. I am now sitting comfortably 15' away on my reclining leather couch.
