Question about Leapster Learning System
I'm trying to replace the battery on my daughter's Leapster but although I can get the screw to turn and pop out with a coin, I can't remover the battery cover. Help!!!! She's home sick today and I'm running out of things for her to do!!!!
OK, after nearly breaking my daughter's leapster I have figured it out.
Use the coin and twist the little screw up. Then with the screw part closest to your chest, SLIDE the cover off AWAY from your chest. The batteries are located on the undercarriage of the cover. It takes "4" AA's
Hope this helps everyone!!!

If the battery compartment lid is not sliding out after you have loosened the screw, press the coin in the gap created from what short distance it did slide, and use the coin to force the battery compartment forward. Mine was really stuck, and this did the trick after some serious effort.
