Re: cannot hear through earpiece or speaker
You earpiece on your device has failed. You can't fix the current earpiece--you would need another one to replace it. If you are still within warranty you can call your service provider and explain to them the problem and they will mail you another device. You can also call Samsung or go the site to fill out a claim form for another device. You shouldnt have to pay anything but shipping to get another phone.
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US. click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need. Goodluck!

This is fault on your earpiece and needs to be replaced ip you can remove the panel and confirm if the earpiece has a continuity or if there was any connection issue. Finally test using a handsfree to confirm that the board is working well and the fault relates only to the earpiece.
this is either because you have completely reduced the volume at which you hear whoever you are talking to or your speaker is faulty.if you are able to hear whoever you are talking to clearly after the person picks up then there is no problem with your speaker but if not that could be it. secondly, you can try using an earpiece and see if it works(ensure the earpiece is working too) if you can hear the person too,i suggest you go thru the phone for any settings have to do with dialling tone(if it has any) or you contact your network provider.hope this helped?
The problem with your phone
is the earpiece, since you have adjusted and try increase the volume, yet, same problem. The earpiece on your
phone is bad that is why you cannot hear the party calling you or hear
anything while you call.
All you need to do is to replace the
earpiece on your phone and you will see that you can hear whoever you
are talking to on your phone.
Replace the earpiece on your phone
and you will see that the problem is solved. meanwhile, you can keep
using the headset pending the time you will replace the earpiece.
The problem why you cannot hear the person you are talking to with the one at the top front(the main earpiece) is that the front earpiece of your phone is bad that is you cannot hear anything unless you put it on speaker.
All you need to do is to replace the front earpiece of your phone and you will see that you will hear when you are talking to anyone.
Change the front earpiece as advice and you see that you will hear your conversation when calling or receiving calls.
