Question about Kodak EasyShare CX7430 Digital Camera
I have bought a new set of batteries and charger and it will still not either turn on or it will turn on but the red light glows and I can not use it I have used non rechargeable batteries and it still will not turn on .the camera is about 4 years old I do not know how long of a life you should get out of a camera before it would not turn on I would have to charge the batteries every time I went to use it even if it was only a day or two since the last time I used it that is why I went and bought the new batteries and charger.the camera is a kodak easyshare cx7430
I had this problem, too, and what worked for me was blowing compressed air into the battery compartment. It seems there was some small speck of dust that was preventing the batteries from making full connection. It works beautifully now.

Please try and format you internal memory. i had the exact same problem and camera and that is how I fixed it. I am not using the internal memory again from now on. Before you forma bye the way remove the SD card. After the internal memory is formated you can insert the card and format the card too just in case. Backup you pictures in both first of course if you want them

My problem is now fixed! I put in a fresh set of recently purchased non-rechargeable batteries into the camera.
I was out-of-state visiting my Dad and taking many photos of his things. I ended up replacing my batteries with some he had around the house just prior to the first instance of camera's problem.
[I do not know the age of Dad's batteries!]
I went to Kodak's website [link] www.kodak.com/global/en/service/products/ekn027989.jhtml?pq-path=3906/1931
On this page is a heading "Troubleshoot And Repair," and I followed the link - Step-by-Step Solutions & Repair .
