Sir, I have a Asus P5GC -MX/1333 Motherboard. I find that whenever the hardisk is changed or formatted sometimes the audio driver fails to load or work. Pl. advice

When you format the hard drive and then install Windows, you also need to install the Asus motherboard device drivers ie. audio, Video, LAN etc.
You can download the drivers from ASUS WEB site. Selectyour model motherboard/computer/laptop, and make sure you select the Windows XPor Vista version of the drivers that matches your Windows operating system. Please click on this link to their WEB support site : - http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us

Canot install audio drivers..

very incomplete data provided..!!..n itz unclear to me of wat os u r using..assuming that u r using win xp pro sp2..n directx installed..
check if Audio device is enabled in bios..

howevr, download microsoft kb888111update n install it..u need to re-install or update the device driver (may b manually)..logon to internet n seek the package/audio driver..along wid the company, there will b a list of such site n driver download links if u search by the model name on a search engine (like google)..

http://www.driverstock.com/ASUS-P4SGX-MX-driver-download/6-9-10067-80224/index.html

download them onto a location; if the driver is in a zip format, unzip it,ifitz in.exe form, just run it; if done manually it'll ask for the correct driver and location; relocate the path and a.inf file (wat it'll ask for)....goto the device manager n verify, if installed properly..!!
also download n install "k-lite mega codec pack"....

if not fixed try using a standby pci snd card (this step will b applicable for desktop users, in such case it'll b a confirmed case of ur system board is likely to b defective)..

but always better to consult ur system admin/vendor....

Assus 865 mother board sound driver problem for vista

Probably that Vista has installed generic sound drivers. Have a look in Device Manager (On the Start menu Rt click Computer - Manage - Device Manager) and see if any unknown or problem devices showing.

Download and install the proper drivers from Asus or Intel (motherboard chipset is Intel).

The installation is starting then failure

Hi ravishan12, from time to time windows just fails to install driver software correctly.
(Not uncommon). There's more than one way to get your sound driver software installed.
Make sure the bios is set, AZALIA AUDIO [Auto]. See page 2-22 in your manual.
Though I know you have an Asus CD with the sound driver on it, I don't want you to use it.
Create a folder on your desktop & name it "Sound". Go to Asus & download the sound driver into your "Sound folder".
Click on this Asus M2N-MX link & choose your operating system, than click on "M2N-MX related files for download". Click the plus sign next to Audio & download into the Sound folder.
http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us (2007/04/19 update).
The file will be in .zip format. Open the Sound folder & uncompress the .zip file - keeping the uncompressed files in the same Sound folder. Once uncompressed there will be two folders. One 32bit & the other 64bit. (This refers to your operating system) Windows 32bit or Win 64bit).
If you do not have the program, "Winzip" to uncompress the .zip file you can download it for free at this next link: http://www.download.com/WinZip/3000-2250_4-10003164.html
Next, how to get windows to install your sound driver software without failing. Open windows device manager. Scroll down through the list of icons. You should find that Sound, video and game controllers is already opened.
Right click once on the explanation point, a window will open & Left click once on “update driver”. Windows hardware wizard will open. Click No, not at this time. Than click the next button. Another window will open. Left click once in the circle next to, Install from a list or specific location (Advanced). Than click the next button. Again, another window will open. We want to remove the green check mark next to, Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM...). Left click on the green check mark once & it will go away.
Click the browse button, click the + sign next to my computer. Find the “Sound” folder on your desktop. Open it, high-light by left clicking on it once the correct folder, 32bit or 64bit. Than click OK.
Windows will search within the folder & install the correct driver software. If by some chance windows does not, repeat the above & open the Sound folder. Find the “AsusSetup.exe” within the correct 32bit or 64bit folder & click on it once. Than click, OK. Windows should install the driver. Close all opened windows & restart your system. Test you audio by running “SoundMax" software within control panel”.

Good luck ravishan12!
Mike

Need installer

Hi bloodklit,
Click on the link I have listed. This will open all the driver software needed for the Asus A3A. Download what you need. Asus does not list the installer. You'll have to download each driver & uncompress them before installing the driver. Best to create a folder on you're desktop & name it drivers. Than create a folder for each driver. LAN, audio, sound ECT. Uncompress each driver within its own folder. Than burn this to a CD/DVD. You'll be able to install all the drivers from the CD.

Good Luck!
