Use the color coded wires that were supplied with the DVD player plug them into the inputs on your rca tv then use you remote and there should be a button that says input i know my rca tv does. Then you push this button and it lets the tv use the input plugs. If there is more than one plug in on your tv push the button till you see your DVD players on screen menu.

New sony tv doesn't recognize cable channels

Normally the TV has to be connected to a set top box supplied by the cable company. The TV set usually needs to be tuned to channel three (or four) and kept at this setting. If an HTMI connection cable is used look for a button labled "input" on the TV remote and using the remote change the input selection to tch the HTMI input station you plugged it into .

  1. Manually turn ON your device (TV, VCR, Cable Box)
  2. Press and "HOLD" CODE SEARCH
  3. Press and release the device button you want to set up (TV, VCR, Cable Box) However, if you are using AUX for a device, press and release AUX first and then the device button for the type of device to be programmed (TV, VCR, or Cable). The selected device button will flash once.
  4. Release CODE SEARCH.
  5. Press OFF/ON repeatedly until the device turns off (you may have to press up to 100 times at a rate of once per second).
  6. Once the device turns off, press and release ENTER.
  7. With the device on, press any other button. If the device responds, no further programming is required. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 1-6.

How do i connect the cables from antenna to set top box to dvd player to tv what cable goes where?

The antenna goes in the box in it's connector. Then the box and the player will have to be separately connected to the tv using 2 AV cables like
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Metre-RCA-plugs/dp/B00136X2YG
To view them you just power them up and select them from the AV/source/input menu of the tv.

Use these instruction to get you going. Connecting this up will be easy. What you do is get a yourself a set of the right, for your setup, cables. That uses EITHER one of the formats, of these described, below. You will need, either, a THREE way Cable, or three separate " Coaxial Cored" Cables with RCA PLUGS on them. ColoredYellow, (Video) Red, & White. (Audio) AV. OR If you have SCARTConnection Sockets, it's a big Black Socket at rear of unit(s), you get aSCART Cable.& It's all inside. Now some units, use a standard calledComponent Video, that uses, a Green, Red, & Blue Plugs. Now, with the Component setup, you will also ,need, Two more Cables, for the AV Audio. these are, Red & White.(So with Component Video there are 5 Cables/Plugs in all). In any event ALL Cables go Color to Color, at each end, plugging into the corresponding Colored RCA Jacks, on either machine, or VCR or TV. Now if you have SCART, then it simply plugs in only one way. It is that simple. So connect up with the leads your set uses, and select the correct "Input" from TV/Remote, it is NOT on a "Channel" it will be on AV, AUX, and Press "Play" on VCR/DVD whatever.... should be all go.

When playing dvds have sound but no picture

Hi
This issue comes up due to many reasons..

1. Video Driver for display adapters to be updated
2. Codec not available.. Try in a different media player..(E.g> KM player, VLC player, GOM player, KL mega codec)
3. Check the DVD in a diff computer/Laptop or toa DVD player connected to a TV set.

Sol for issue 1: You can get latest & official drivers from your computer manufaxcturer's site or you may opt for some third party driver agents available(Google it)

Sol for issue 2: All the players i mentioned are free apps.. So download and try it..

Sol for 3: If DVD plays fine in a diff machine, then issue with your computer.. if it fails to play in diff computer's then its purely a faulty DVD.

Cheers

Are you by chance using a SVGA cable alone? I am not sure of your cable configuration, but the SVGA cable only sends video.. this sounds like your issue. Check your cables to the modulator box from the DVD to make sure the RCA jacks are from audio l/r out on the DVD to ausio in on the modulator.. hope that helps..

To how to make a dvd drive into a dvd player for a tv

the dvd drive has a different interface...
You will have to connect the PC to the TV.

Three ways to do that...
1. The TV may have an RGB connector ... same as your monitor.
2. You can use the Yellow RCA connector on the TV if your PC has a "video out" (Yellow RCA connector).
3. The PC may have an HDMI connector ... like your TV... (best way to connect)

Your PC sound will also have to be connected or use the PC speaker system for #1 and #2 above...

Hope this helps!

The problem you are having is the DVD player. Not all DVD players will play a burned DVD. Some set top DVD players are know for being very picky about what type of DVD's they will play, and Phillips is very bad about this.

If you have the owners manual for the DVD player, look inside and see what type of disc's are playable. if it should play them DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R. DVD+RW should all be listed.

Right now about 80% of DVD players do not play burned DVD's

In time they all will play them, but for some unknownn reason, some are still made without this ability.

Also, not all DVD-R's are created equal.

The best quality of DVD's to buy for burning are Taiyo Yuden. But Sony, memorex, and Maxell are also pretty good.

One way to be certain about the quality of the burned DVD's is to take one to a friends house or anybody you know who has a set top DVD player and see if it plays in their DVD player.

That will at least tell you if the DVD's you are burning are at fault or not. But my guess is that you r Phillips is the culprit here.

I hope this was helpful to you, if so a good rating would really be appreciated.

I have been buring DVD's since they started selling them for the PC. compatibility has been the only problem I have had.
My sony DVD player plays everything I throw at it.

Dvd Audio Garbled

Right click on My Computer, choose Properties, Hardware Tab, Device Manager. Expand the IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers, choose Secondary IDE Channel (Double Click) Advanced Settings. Current transfer mode should be highest level of DMA (if it is PIO mode that is likely your problem).
If it is PIO mode, click the driver tab and make sure the driver provider is Microsoft. If not, make sure you have the driver available. If the provider is Microsoft close out of the Secondary IDE Channel Properties window, right click on the Secondary IDE Channel in Device Manager, and choose uninstall.
Reboot the computer, then open device manager again, highlight IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers, right click and choose Scan for Hardware Changes. It will find the Secondary IDE Channel and reinstall it. The transfer mode should be DMA. Your CD/DVD will play like normal.
