What does H4 mean on a Sharp SF71 electrostatic copier?
The lamp inside does not come on at all now. We have had this printer since the mid 70's. It is a dinosaur but we love it. The lamp does not come on and the copier gives this code-H4. Is this a lamp issue or is there a fuse link maybe?? Unfortunately we do not have a manual for this thing?? thanks :) CC

H4 error means that your heater lamp is not functioning. Could be the thermistors (monitoring temperature) are just dirty
and need cleaning or the thermostat has blown, heater lamp inside
the fuser roller may have stopped working or their is a power supply
issue to the fuser.
I suggest check the fuse, maybe it is open already and need for replacement.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate

Noy likely you can fix this without replacing the fuser lamp H4 means the fuser lamp is not getting to temp. It cold be a fuse on the fuser unit, too. Checking with an ohm meter is only way to know which,
H4 mean fusing lamp problem so you have to 1) check the fusing lamp 2: check fusing lamp thermostat and after all you must rest the code by press - # key -interrupt key - C key - interrupt key - 14 - ready
H4-00 on Sharp means that the temperature inside the printer is too low. That is usually the fuser lamp, and rarely the temp sensor. When this happen you need to have the fuser unit replaced, if that does not fix the problem the technician will replace the temperature sensor.
