Well...HP models that have network capability have an "N" at the end of the model number. often those that have built-in wireless have a "W" somewhere as well.
Yours does not....so you cannot print DIRECTLY to the printer via Wireless LAN. You CAN however, connect it via a USB cable to a PC that is on your Network, (you must have wireless access to this network already for this to work, if not, then you have a whole different problem that is another question=How do I add "wireless" to my Local Area Network-LAN.)
Once the printer is properly installed, then you need to SHARE it to others on your Network. How this is done varies with what operating system you have...you did not tell us.
This is what you manual said to do, unfortunately most times the Recovery does not work. I prefer a clean install over recover because I don't get all the unwanted programs. Instructions from Manual below: Turn off the computer. If necessary, press and hold the On button until the computer turns off. 2 Disconnect all peripheral devices from the computer, except the monitor, keyboard, and mouse. 3 Press the On button to turn on the computer. 4 Immediately, when you see the initial company logo screen appear, press the F11 key on your keyboard repeatedly until the Recovery Manager window appears. 5 Click Advanced options. 6 In the Advanced options window, click System recovery, and then Next. 7 Click No to back up files (if you have already done so), and then click Next. System recovery begins. After system recovery is complete, the computer restarts.
Have you tried doing a System Restore to a restore point (date and time) before you started having problems? A clean fresh install of windows might be your only and best option.
First step is to know the version ( system type ) of your Dell Vista PC. Click on START button Right click on Computer and left Click on Properties From
the New Window Check for System Type : It will be mentioned as 32 bit
operating system or 64 bit operating system. ( Remember this )
I assume you have not installed the complete software for your Printer. Click on the link below to download the drivers for Vista O/s for the printer. When the page is open - Choose the Operating system and click on Next Button.
Click on Drivers and Product installation option and click on HP Full Feature Software and Drivers Click on Download button on top and click SAVE ( Remember the location you save the file ) You need to run the downloaded software. Disconnect the USB Cable from printer before you start the installation as the screen will prompt you when you connect it.
