32" lcd after a while picture goes to negative (inverted colour) somtimesd on power up also
I have a Techwood 32" lcd modl:LCD3211 I also think that it's a Wafdale re badged, as mentioned tv can be on OK for about 20mins and then goes to a rather unwatchable negitive effect (all blacks go blue, softer blue goes to vibrant white) did the usual "shock test" picture comes back somtimes for the rest of evening somtimes for about 20/45mins. there are times when set is turned on it gives the problem.
Any one with ideas or help, I'm thinking it may be a dry joint but rather than go over the whole set with a iron, thought I'd ask first.

You have to check the back light of your lcd monitor. All lcd screen have a back light to illuminate the pixels. you can conform is the back light is faulty or not by watching the lcd screen nearby. Watch can you see any image (negative image) on the screen. you have to look very closely. if you see any image on the screen then the back light or the back light inverter is faulty.
You have to check the back light inverter board. Normally in lcd monitors you can see three circuit boards. power supply, mother board, and the inverter board. If available then try to replace the inverter board. There are high voltage transformers in this board. There is a chance for its winding get short. You will not get the transformer in open market. Try for the inverter board .
This tv have a dead long board call the LCD inverter board. This long LCD inverter board job are to help the LCD screen panel to have a backlight to produced a picture.Replaced this long LCD inverter board, will solved this problems.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish long LCD inverter board for the replacement.
I was a little confused as the model is a Plasma Screened set and you wrote LCD. Not to worry. In the old days, people were told that the display on plasma screens needed to be "re-gassed", this is nonsense. The gas goes no where and is inert anyway, made up of elements like neon, argon and a few other choice U/V emmiting products. I would say you have a power supply problem in conjuntion with a video pedastal problem. The plasma screen has a half life of some 17000 hours, which is enough for ones eyes to turn square. Thereafter the same again until the picture dulls dow to a still acceptable level. The supply voltage is not the critical one it is the bias voltage on the video processing that is all important. Do you remember the old colour TV's with pedastel problems and negative/inverted colours, (ITT CVC9 comes to mind instantly here). If you have a service manual, check the waveforms around the video processor for inconsistencies, if you haven't it is a workshop repair anyway but without a manual you have no real way of knowing what you are looking for. Hope that sheds some light on your problem.
If there is still about ? 24. Volts coming from the Power Board when it goes dark, it will be the Inverter board that needs replacing. If not, it is the Power Board that needs replacing.
The Voltages should be written next to the sockets & plugs on the Power Board.
Ur tv the LCD inverter board it dead. The LCD inverter is the board that help the LCD screen panel to get a backlight to produce a picture, the LCD inverter board is dead and it not working anymore that why u only get 8 sec.of the picture.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish LCD inverter board for the replacement. It a long board in shape.
Your inverter boards need to be tested and serviced, these are circuits designed to control the light behind the LCD glass panel. It could also be the power supply not feeding 24volts too the inverter circuits. In that case the power board would need servicing.
Take it back if its under warranty if not get it serviced at your local repair center..
i know your problem. its an inverter loose connection from CCFL to inverter output. back of your LCD inside the TV. try to remove and re-connect again. be sure no power and AC is unplugged. email@example.com
Fault at its main digital board. Short circuited component/s at it. Contact any service technician; or the authorized service center. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary. ..
