If your printer does not have a duplex unit then the printercannot print double sided pages automatically. You can print double sided pages but you have to do it one page at a time. First print Page 1 then place the page back into the paper tray, but turn thepage upside down and the print Page 2. Then print page 3 on one side then page 4 on the other side and repeat for therest of the document. I suggest you try a test page first, to get the printing the right way up onboth sides of the page so it reads correctly.
hi, first of all maybe your file has a problem. DO NOT CHANGE your toner. Try to print only last page, or copy the content of the last page in the new document and the print it. Sometimes the printer can not recognise some files correctly and that is the major problem pifonski
Your toner usage will depend upon how much of each color toner is used on each page. (To conserve colors when printing in Black and White only, specify monochrome in your printer setup)
<div>I had similar problems when printing publicity flyers. The toner cartridges claim to be good for about 2000 prints each, but I was lucky to get 3 or 400 pages when printing blocks of color. The TN115 cartridges hold significantly more toner, and the cartridges that come with the printer are TINY.</div>
It should be constantly cleaned by it's cleaning blade with every revolution. If that's not making continuous contact inside the drum unit, then it's time to replace the drum. The symptom to look for is not just a gray background, but images that repeat about 3 inches down the page as the drum rolls around to that point again. If the background is gray without noticeable repeating image, it may be a defective toner cartridge. We've wasted a fair amount of money replacing Brother drums when it turned out to be the much cheaper toner cartridge. If it's a new cartridge, take it back to the store along with before and after print samples.
We are going to attempt to do a "power purge" to get rid of any clogged ink nozzles. Note, this will probably eat up about half of your ink, but that is the price you must pay in order to attempt to fix this bad boy.
1) Get into maintenance mode. Press these keys: Menu -> Black Start -> Scan x4 (hit it four times). A number pad should come up. If not, do it again.
2) Hit key 7, then key 6.
3) Press the right key until you get to "CLEANING BLACK."
4) Press 3.
5) Press Black Start.
After it purges and gets back to the main maintenance screen, press keys 9 and 9.
Let your printer start back up. If this does not work, try the above steps up to three times. If it does not work then, you need a new print head, which is not a user-replaceable part on this model.
I contacted the Brother site, the support function there. Pursuant to what I found there, I unplugged the printer for ten seconds and replugged. The message display then told me that cyan was empty, and that magenta was near empty.
I installed a new cartridge in place of the empty cyan, and that fixed it.
I called technical support for this issue previously with my brother mfc. It would only do this during color scanning. b&w scanning was just fine. The tech support put me through resetting the reference point of the scanner through a series of button pressing and closing and opening the paper feeder. I kept gettting the same lousy results. Then they determined that the scanner module needs replacing and I needed to take to the nearest service center.
