Select "multy functional printers" in product category
Select "Image class" in product series
Choose "image class 4122/4150" in product model
Choose "driver & software" in type of document.
Then you will get a list of drivers, select the driver that is meant for your os.
You will have to set the Multi-ring pattern in the Printer Fax Setup to distinguish between the phone ring and fax ring
Press Setup button Scroll to Advanced fax setup ( Press OK ) Choose Distinctive Ring Pattern ( DRP ) Set the multi-ring you have been assigned for Fax Press OK - Try dialing the no., the Fax should ring Try sending Fax or Recieving, it should work.
Also, Turn off the ECM under SETUP - FAX Settings - ECM ( Error correction mode ) - Turn it OFF
if its completely off and not getting on then
1)first try by replacing the power cord of the unit.
2)try at different power outlet.
3)it can be short circuit problem at the main board.as due to leak if a single droplet of water has got on the main board.and in that same condition if you on the unit board gets short circuited and any minute part gets blowed out.this has to be checked by removing the board.the cost may be confirmed only after knowing which part has got shorted.
Distorted images with lines present from scanned pics arises when the power supply is already below the rated output voltage or regulated power supply is defective. try fixing the power supply section but check if it still have a correct output voltage, or replace the power supply with a new one if the power supply of your scanner is a plug in type, or try to plug the scanner somewhere else in your place... hope this help :-)
How to Set the Receive Mode (MF4140/MF4150)
1. Press [Additional Functions].
2. Use [Left cursor] or [Right cursor] to select [FAX SETTINGS], then press [OK].
3. Use [Left cursor] or [Right cursor] to select [RX SETTINGS], then press [OK].
4. Use [Left cursor] or [Right cursor] to select [RX MODE], then press [OK].
5. Use [Left cursor] or [Right cursor] to select the receive mode, then press [OK].
[FaxOnly]: Answers all calls as faxes and disconnects voice calls.
[AnsMode]: Receives faxes automatically and records voice messages.
[NET SWITCH]: Distinguishes between fax and voice calls.
[FaxTel]: Switches between fax and voice calls automatically.
[MANUAL]: Does not answer any calls. You have to manually receive faxes.
a. For [FaxTel] or [MANUAL], make sure the optional handset or an external telephone is connected to the machine.
b. For [AnsMode], make sure an answering machine is connected to the machine.
c. The [NET SWITCH] mode is available for certain countries only and requires subscription to a network switch service.
6. Press [Stop/Reset] to return to the standby mode.
I would suggest getting a new one, but BE SURE you check to see if it will work with VoIP. I have the HP 6210 and it has problems with VoIP as well. Go to a place where you can test it at home and be sure you can return it if it has issues. Best Buy, or Staples are pretty good with returns, but SAVE the receipt! LOL... I had the same problem! You have to set your fax machine option to DRPD mode. Menu, to Fax setup, to DRPD mode, press ENTER, ENTER again, it should say waiting ring, you then have to call your fax line. Back to Fax Setup, Recieve Mode, press DRPD mode. This way your machine well distinguish a different ring for your fax.
