Are you using an USB mouse? If so you may like to try another USB port or there might be some wire to the USB port not plugged right. You can check the printing on the motherboard to see how it should be plugged. (There is several wires for each USB port with a certain order into an plug on the motherboard when the USB port is not on the motherboard). You can check the power and make sure it is connected well and enough for everything. Other options will be to use other mouse like wireless mouse or PS/2 to USB converter to make a PS/2 mouse an USB mouse or vice versa. Checking motherboard and measuring every voltage could be very complicated.

Can this HP Pavilion DV9000 laptop adapter fit for Compaq Presario V3000 laptop? I doult that HP Pavilion DV9000 laptop adapter on website:http://www.laptopbatteryshop.ca/hp-pavilion-dv9000-ac-adapter.htm...

Have a look at the label on the bottom of the V3000 laptop and check the voltage and amps power rating of the laptop.
If the DV9000 adapter has the same voltage and current rating (amps) or higher amp rating then it is suitable for the V3000 laptop, provided the power plug fits the V3000 power socket.

DV1000 Sound Drivers for XP Pro

I can assist you better if you can get me the Product Number of the Notebook which can be located at the bottom of the Notebook indicated with P/N printed on a white sticker.
However, please be informed that the notebooks among DV1000 are classified into two types...DV1000 and DV1600 series.
If your notebook is under the DV1000 series, it need to be installed with Conexant CX20468-31 AC97 which can be downloaded from the link below :
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp29001-29500/sp29483.exe

OR
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32001-32500/sp32272.exe

Better way is to copy and paste the link in the address bar of a new Internet explorer window and press enter to start downloading the file...
Save the file in the Notebook and double click once it is saved to install.
However, if your Notebook belongs to DV1600 series, it may be installed with Conexant High Definition Audio card for which we need to follow a different procedure.
For installing the High Definition audio card drivers, we need to first install the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) drivers before installing the audio drivers.
The Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture (UAA) drivers can be downloaded from the link below :
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32646.exe

Make sure that you download and install the Drivers and restart the Notebook before installing the Audio Drivers in the Notebook.
Once the computer is restarted after installing the UAA Drivers, you need to download the Conexant High Definition Audio for your Notebook from the link below :
ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32864.exe

Download and install the Drivers once they are saved in the Notebook and restart the notebook again for better results.
If you are confused, get back to me with the Product Number of the Notebook so that I will be able to provide you the exact audio drivers for your notebook.
This should help......

HP Pavilion dv1000 PC Notebook Audio Problem

There are two different audio cards shipped with Pavilion DV1000 series Notebooks.

If your Notebooks belong to DV1600 series, your Notebook should have been shipped with Conexant High Definition Audio card.

This can be one of the reason why you are unable to install the Conexant AC Link audio drivers in your Notebooks.

You need to install Microsoft UAA Drivers first before installing the Conexant High Definition Audio Drivers in the Notebook.

Download the Microsoft Universal Audio Architecture(UAA) Drivers for your Notebook from the HP link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32646.exe

Please save the file in the Notebook and double click it after the download completes to install the drivers. Restart the Computer once the installation of the Microsoft UAA Drivers is completed.

Now download the Conexant High Definition audio drivers from the link below :

ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp32501-33000/sp32864.exe

Save the file and double click on it once it is saved to install the Drivers.

This should solve the issue with audio in your Notebooks.

Hope this helps...

Requesting hp pavilion dv1000 audio drivers

I have had this problem for a while, and I solved it by learning exactly how to search the HP driver listings correctly. The issue stems from the fact that searching for "HP Pavilion dv1000" is not as specific as you might think...

Step one:
Go Here
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&dest_page=product&docname=c00033108&product=18073
Find the *EXACT* model number of your laptop. For instance, it turns out my "HP Pavilion dv1000" is actually a "dv1657cl." Alternately, you can take down the Product Number (or p/n).

Step two:
Go Here
http://welcome.hp.com/country/us/en/support.html
I am sure we are all familiar with this page, but you will find that it is a little more helpful now that we are armed with the knowledge that it requires. Search on this page with your model number or p/n and you should find the correct drivers (for audio as well as other devices) easily.

For example, I finally found this page for my "dv1657cl."
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareList?os=228&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=2511500

Good luck, everyone!
