Hi there,

I believe the coolpix 900 takes compact flash (CF) I wouldn't worry about getting a particularly good one though just a standard CF card would be sufficient for testing purposes.

hope this helps.

Have canon cooplex 4000. PictureProject 1.1 that came with it doesn't work with Windows7

You do mean Nikon Coolpix, don't you?
PictureProject was retired years ago. You can get the current versions of all (free) Nikon software from here.

You don't need any special software. The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said earlier, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Nikon Transfer or Picasa.

The play back button of my nikon coolpix s200 is not working. i don't know how to fix it. please help me... i cannot view my previous pictures..

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

I have a Nikon Coolpix L110. I made the mistake of taking pictures without putting in my memory card and now my photos are stuck in my internal memory. I cannot locate the cable I have to connect to my...

No sorry, you cannot transfer the pictures from internal memory to the memory card. You can buy a USB cable online on that big auction site (they don't pay me, I don't write their name) for about $5 including shipping. Don't pay $35 at a retail store for one whatever you do!

I have a new memory card with no photos on it and the camera keeps telling me Memory card is unusable insert new memory card. Change image to internal.

The camera is telling you that the memory card you have installed can not be used by it and it's instructing you to change the card. finally it's asking you whether you would like to save the image you have just taken to the (tiny) internal memory.
There are 3 main reasons for this error:
  1. You are using the wrong type of card. Your camera can use only SD and SDHC memory cards of capacity equal to or below 32GB. If the card you have installed doesn't match these requirements, you will have to get it exchanged.
  2. The memory card is damaged. (make sure you follow the instructions in the manual and don't force the card in.) Since it's new, we can rule out water damage and the such. I suggest you try copying a file onto this card using a computer to see if it's ok. If this is the case, get your card exchanged.
  3. The camera or the card slot is damaged. Find a memory card that you know is working (from a friend maybe) that suits the particulars mentioned in the first point and try using that card in your camera. If this part is damaged, you will have to take the camera back to the shop to get it repaired.

There. I hope that helped you solve your problem. Don't hesitate to leave a comment if you have any further problems. good luck and happy shooting!

Brand new Nikon 3100 with freshly charged battery will not turn on for the first time. When I install the battery and close the flap, a small green indicator light lights up, but that's it. On/Off...

Well you have 2 choices...don't go back to Best Buy because you don't want to and you'd rather live with a brand new camera that doesn't work or.....take it back!

My Nikon Coolpix L1110 whenever i turn it on with memory card the camera message THIS CARD CANNOT BE USED.. but without the memory it is find and ok.... I put the memory on my laptop and it is working all...

Don't be so quick blaming your camera for everything. :)
Maybe that message means the memory card is either full or nearly full.

When did it start saying that? Did you try another memory card in the camera?

I use some new alkaline batteries but the camera (Nikon 5600 coolpix) doesn't go on

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on are battery contact points, and micro switches that are located on the battery and memory card doors. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

I need the user guide for my Vivicam 8340 digital camera, since I want to install an SD card on it but I don't know how to do it. Thank you, in advance!

The user guide is not available online as a download. However installing an SD card is usually pretty simple. On this camera, the SD card slot is on the bottom inside the compartment where the battery is housed. Simply slide the door open, and locate the slot for the memory card. The memory card should only go in one way, so don't try to force it. If it doesn't fit fairly easily try turning the card around. Remember: the gold pins on the card go into the camera!
