Watch as it begins booting. Is there a message that tells you to press one of the "F" buttons for recovery?

Also, have you tried to boot into safe mode? To do so, begin tapping F8 when it begins booting. You should get a menu that allows you to boot into safe mode to attempt trying to find a problem.

If you have tried to boot in safe mode as wayneard has requested and it still does not boot and shuts down then you may need to restore your system.

However if you have tried to boot in safe mode and it allows you to then uninstall any software or hardware that you think could be causing the problem or restore your computer to an earlier date when you know that it was working correctly. Do this by going to start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore and choose a date when you know that you had no problems.

If this does not work or you can not access safe mode then I suggest that you contact emachines for replacement restore disks. Most emachines actually do come with these disks, it is a shame that you cannot find them.

Hello,

If this just started it could be that it is overheating. Make sure that the tower itself is in open air so that it can circulate enough air. If its in a computer desk that may not have enough room I would temporarily move it out of there and see it that stops the problem.

Hope this helps. Please remember to rate this information.

Thanks

Your internet explorer browser could be at fault. Try a different browser such as Chrome or firefox,. If they work then your problem is with the IE browser part of windows. If so, no big deal since the other two browsers are better and less memory intensive.

Our XPS keeps shutting down on its own, says it detected an error, then we try to restart and it goes to a blue screen, doesn't restart right.

Unplug any hardware, modems, sound cards, video cards, ect. Start CPU, go into bios settings by hitting delete, or F10 button as soon as it starts to boot,, load set up defaults, restart into normal mode. Or, as soon as cpu starts re boot, press F8 and choose last known good configuration. Hope this helps!

My new iPhone 3GS shuts down my computer when I plug it in

Hi I had the same problem, for a few days the new Iphone worked fine then started to appear as digital picture divice then just shut my Laptop down as soon as i plugged it in. I contacted Apple who were very helpfull and sent me 4 mails with advice. The one that worked for me was ...........
If you have anything running on your pc/Laptop with Logitech driver it conflicts with the apple drivers. I had a built in webcam on Laptop and when I typed Logitech in the search on start menu found it was run by that driver. I uninstalled it and deleted all the relavent files plugged Iphone in and no more problems except I now dont have a webcam but I thought small price to pay.

I hope this Helps
Best wishes

When I plug in my Iphone computer shuts down

Make sure you've got the latest version of Itunes installed, if you have Itunes on your PC at all.

Try changing your drive letters: Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Performance and Maintenance. Make sure you are in Category View. Click Administrative Tools, double-click Computer Management, and then click Disk Management in the left pane. Right-click the drive, the partition and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths. Click Change. Click Assign the following drive letter if it is not already selected, click the drive letter that you want to use, and then click OK. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the drive letter change.

Try the IPhone now.

Boot your system in safemode and restore the original setting. if not sole the issue, You need to reinstall the windows operating system(note: installing windows may delete all your files, so backup it).
