My Pioneer VSX-92TXH Eliet will be working fine then it will basically freeze up and continue to work but won't allow me to adjust the volume or any other setting. I can't power it off either. I have to unplug it to get it to reset.

Then other times it will just completely power off while I'm in the middle of watching TV or listening to the radio.

It appears to have a life of it's own I may take it to a repair shopt to see if they can fix otherwise I'll just buy a new receiver and it won't be a Pioneer Receiver.

    Very Frustrating.

There is a tech fixing this problem for $75 if you remove the boards and send them to him but I don't think its work fixing. The 92/94 THX are basically unstable. The Elite line is no longer what it once was...time to move to Onkyo Integra.

My pioneer vsx 921 switched off while playing loud. ADv MCACC is flashing and it is not powering on? What could be the problem?

Your unit is locked in protection mode. Hold the advanced surround button and the power button to turn it back on. If it shutdown right away, then you shorted out the amp and need to take it in for repair.
