Power supply lighting up but when I push the ''On'' button there is

I have a XBlade 550 ATX 450 Watt Power Supply along with a Asus K8V SE MB. When I try to power up the PC I get nothing, I removed the panel and checked the lights to my Power Supply and they light up as does the green light on the Mother Board. Why am I not getting it to power up?
Thanks

I tried a new power supply and it does the same, there is nothing. No drives start and no fans either.

You may have a bad power switch on the front panel.

Most if not all pc power supply’s have a short circuit protection feature that will not allow themselves to turn on if there is any type of short in the system

Example being : one day on my pc here one of the extra power plugs for the cd rom drives (the ones that are there for adding more drives with red,2blk,and ylw wires) was hanging down in the back of the case out of view and some how managed to make a perfect connection with one of the positive wires and a little notch on the metal case resulting in pc not turning on.

Also i have seen some rare times where a screw that was lose in the case had fallen between the motherboard and the metal panel that the board is mounted to causing a short which prevented the computer from turning on.

If you have gonna as far as changing power supply’s then you might as well remove the whole board and then putting it back in but only connecting the power supply first to see if it turns on with just the board and the power button connected and if it does then install each component one at a time testing it in between until it stops working again to be able to tell which device it is.

if it does not turn on with just the power supply and the board by it self then check the capacitors on the board usually the ones closest t o the CPU to see if any of the tops of them look like they are popped up (they should be perfectly flat on top and the lines perfect and if one of them are even the slightest bit rounded on top like they swelled up a little then the board is history...Hopefully this is not the case and to make this easier for you here is a pic I uploaded to my website for you so you can see the difference http://systemonenetworking.com/caps.jpg

I have a Xblade model CS859BK and am wondering if it has WiFi capability

It looks to be that you bought a barebones case which includes the case, a couple fans, and the power supply. Just with this alone it doesnt no have wifi capability. What gives the wifi capatability is a motherboard that has it built in or you can buy a motherboard and a wifi card.

Power supply

Any 450 Watt SMPS power supply is ok. Zebronic or Mercury retails around Rs.450 to 500. No need of costlier power supply like Corsair etc.

I need a motherboard that will fit in a Raidmax ATX1072BP Mid Tower ATX Computer Case!

Most desktop computer cases have a range of standard mount holes, standard offs.
I suggest you select a motherboard that suits your requirements.
To be sure that the motherboard will fit your case, take the motherboard mount base with you to the computer shop and place the motherboard of your choice on the base to see if the mounting holes line up.
You may need to upgrade the switch mode power supply to a higher power unit if the total power requirements is near the maximum the existing unit can deliver.

Read the labels for the connectors on the motherboard.

Polarity does not matter for the POWER and RESET buttons.

If the lamps for AC-POWER or HARD-DRIVE-ACTIVITY do not light-up when you expect them, then reverse the connector.

Try the PC SPEAKER connection one way, and then shutdown
the computer, reserve the connection, and start the computer.
If the "beep" at start-up is better, leave it as-is.
If the "beep" does not happen, or is quieter/distorted, reverse the connector.

I have a power supply that is turning itself off immediately after switching it on it is a new motherboard as well Any ideas why ?

I think either the MB or the CPU is with problems.

Try (2 after 1 works, 3 after 2 works...):
1) only PSU+MB+CPU and Fan - works? beeps like crazy?
2) add memory - works? single beep?
3) add/connect video - any image?

All other connectors off (disks, etc) only PSU, fan and case buttons.

If you don't get past 1), go back to the store and have it tested/returned there.

remove all hard drives, cdroms, floppys ect.
then try powering on if it still doesn't come up
remove all cards from there slots then try powering up
if stall doesn't remove ram, still doesn't try new power supply if still doesn't try new motherboard.
