Question about Motorola Talkabout T5100 (14 Channels) 2-Way Radio

1 Answer

One walkie talkies volume is very low

I have a Motorola Talkabout T5100. One set has great volume, but the other one is hard to hear. Any suggestions on what to do? I do not have the instructions, as they were given to me.

Thanks,

Debbie Dodson

I tried the grill and the microphone holes for debris, but that didn't help. Thanks anyway!

Check the speaker grill and the mic hole for dirt or debris.

I have a set of Motorola T5720 walkie Talkies. I cannot determine if one of them is not receiving or the other is not transmitting.

One radio works properly, the other can receive. I assume there are more than two by the question. Check and then rotate you batteries, mark on the working unit battery that it is GOOD. Transmit takes a great deal more power than receiving. Batteries, even un-used only last 18-24 months typically. If no joy, then check your programming but I think that is unlikely. It really sounds like a power/battery issue.

The kebt-650 appears to be a replacement batter for the Motorola Solutions MU and MT Talkabout walkie talkie series.

How to find someone using a wallis talkie

Program your existing walkie talkie to a common frequency with no PL code turned on and listen for activity. If you are using a TalkAbout or other FRS radio you should hear activity on one or more channels if you are in a city.
Best regards.

The Motorola T-5000R does not have VOX capabilties. Page 23 in the manual explains this.

You will find the manual here. The radio is part of the 280 series radios, so there is a general manual on all in that series.
