The 'water in door tubing' in our FRS-22ZRFD side by side appears to be leaking. Is this tube replaceable? I have had the water/ice dispenser out for other repairs and also I have removed the plastic liner panel exposing the foam door insulation. Exactly how is the tube replaced since there seems to be no access.

If your talking about the water line fron the bottom ofthe door to the dispensor head, it pulls out and is replaceable, might be a little tricke to feed through the door but ther is a channel in which it will push back through

Sounds like a small hole in the plastic water tube inside the door. It is a replaceable part but you may need to remove the freezer door to do that. The old tube should come out the bottom near the hinge area. The new tube is then pushed up inside the same hole. There is usually a plastic conduit in the door for the plastic tube to follow. Here is the part number I found for the new plastic tube.
W10277960 about $42 to $45 depending on part store.
You need to remove the door from the refrigerator, then remove from the door the plastic frame carefuly, its snaping, and attach the new (1/4") line to the end of existing line then pull up the existing line softhly until the new one appears, check before all this if the line is broken at then of door or in the middle and if leak is below the refrigerator check from the solenoid to the door.
Hello there and welcome to fixya
ok on these units there is a plastic clear water tube that is
connected to a push /pull type connection under the door that will
need to be checked out to see if it is leaking
refrigerators usually dispose of the water generated during the defrost
cycle via a tube or channel that directs the water to a pan at the
bottom of the refrigerator. From the pan, the water normally evaporates If
the tube or channel is clogged or obstructed, the water backs up and
leaks into the inside of the refrigerator compartment.
I am sorry no repair I know of. As a repair tech we have to change doors often due to the same waterline freezing. there is no way in without damage to door . however you can buy the door from GE for about 300-400 dollars or do without ice & water thru door. Sorry I hope this helps
If water appears to be leaking from the back of the refrigerator, check that the water line from the household water supply to the refrigerator is not damaged or cracked. Check all connections that are accessible such as the connection at the supply valve and the connection point of the supply tubing onto the back of the refrigerator. Check that the tubing is firmly inserted into all fittings and all fittings are tightened.
Saddle Valve Shutoff Valve
Leaking from under the door
On exterior dispenser models, if water appears to be leaking from under the refrigerator door, look and feel under the door to ensure the water connection to the dispenser is properly done. Firmly push the water tubes into the fitting.
NOTE:This connection was disconnected if the doors were removed during installation or if the door swing was reversed.
Is the water leaking from the bottom of the freezer door ? ( new door ) line is not replaceable inside the door .
Is the water leaking from the tubing at the connector ( about 6" from the bottom of the freezer door ) ( remove both lines from the connector , cut off about 1" of each tube and reinstall into the connector )
To access , remove the kickplate by either removing 1 screw on each side or just pull off ( held on by clips ) .
The waterinlet valve on the back of the unit where the
water supply comes in can have a slow leak and will cause ice to buildup and
block the fill tube. Disconnect the ice maker line from the valve and watch to
see if it has a slow drip. It doesn’t take much to eventually block the fill
tube. You can thaw the fill tube and replace the water inlet valve.
the water fill tube for i/m is on the back of ref. the tube you have is to the water dispenser. look in freezer floor, is it full of ice? if so, remove all ice and clear drain hole for evap. if not, reassemble what you took apart and inspect tube under ref. while someone runs water dispenser. find leak and repair.
