GE spacesaver jvm240av microwave shuts down during cycle

It seems that moisture producing foods cause a problem when being heated in microwave. Fan, light and heating shuts down before cycle has ended but clock keeps running. Eventually it comes back on. I can speed up the process by opening the door and blowing toward what looks like a sensor and vent inside the compartment. When the light comes back on I can close the door and it will start back up.

Is this a heat sensor sticking inside the food compartment that I need to replace?

I have not gotten a solution for this problem. I thought your website said one of the experts would respond for free. Seems like that must have been a hoax to give you the opportunity to sell me something. Shame on you!

I am still waiting for the free assistance, as advertised.

Ge advantium upper halogen light stays on fan does not run durning this times. Operates okay when in used but does not cycle. Is on during microwaving.

The door switches should be checked, often food partical buildup will cause one or more to malfunction.

My spacesaver dated September of 2004 shuts off

I solved the problem by buying a new microwave and it was not a GE. I feel that GE should have had a recall on this problem, since it seemed to be a major problem in their system. I will never buy another GE product.

Microwave oven stays on continuously and won't heat food.

Spacemakers have had problems with there magnatron, part is around 170.00. Depending on the year it is covered under a warranty however the labor is not. I have replaced 3 spacesavers for people already due to this issue. Unit runs but will not heat.
