Question about Sanyo Microwave Ovens
My sanyo microwave EM-S3577S UK2 has suddenly stopped heating food. Yesterday morning I heated porridge successfully. My wife then went to heat something later in the day and it did not work. It has power, it counts down the time, rotates, everything except heat the food. I have tried turning off and on , resetting the power level, but no joy. Any suggestions welcomed
I have exactly the same problem - strange and annoying! Did you manage to fix it?

Likely the door switch. The bottom tab on the door pushes a safety switch lever at the back of the slot. After a few years things loosen up and it doesn't always close. Try pushing in and up on the bottom of the door while it's counting down and see if it will work. I haven't fixed mine yet, I'll add here if I figure out how. :-)

It sounds like the magnetron may have
either failed or is not being supplied with the extremely high
voltage required to run it.
SAFETY IS PARAMOUNT
This is a job for a professional but if
you are safety clued up, here's instruction.
Make sure the !!!!any capacitors are discharged!!!!! before attempting any sort of repair.
Check the door interlock switches first then the high voltage diode with either an AVO model 8 or moving coil meter on high resistance range for short circuit, (DVM's won't show the fault!), the capacitor can fail and go short circuit, the feed fuse on the primary of the high voltage transformer and then finally, the magnetron is best checked by substitution.
Hope that helps.
