Retrieving new xbox gamertag

I changed my gamertag late on Nov 12. When I turned on my xbox next morning only my old profile was present. On all was fine with my new gamertag. So I tried to retrive my new gamertag only to get the message "this windows id belongs to xxxxxx (old gamertag), do i want to recover this one instead?" Naturally I dont as it no longer exists on xbox live (I have searched!) and even if I try to retrive my old one it says "xbox live signup not available". Since then I have deleted my old profile only as it said it was an invalid membership, which would be correct. Have spoke to xbox 4 times now, lenghty calls and done all tests they told me to. Now I gotta wait for someone else to call back who has access to more personal details???? So any ideas? has all the up to date info yet xbox live looks like it does not. Is this to do with "signup not available"? I have been trying since the morning of Nov13 to retrive my new gamertag.
Any help would be very appreciated.

It may have been an issue with xbox live at the time. Would you mind sharing your windows live ID (not the password) and/or your gamertag?

you have to call windows live support and let them know that your email address may have been compromised and you need to either terminate it or have them walk you through what you have to do. do it quickly.

This may be a problem related to your account being stolen. Your best bets are contacting Xbox Support again. They should have the solution. You can probably try reseting you password again, then try again, but other than that, my bets are on the first solution. Good luck, and I hope you resolve your issue.

I recently bought the new xbox 360 and when i enter my email address a whole new gamer tag came on and not the one where i have xbox live what can i do?

the only way this could happen is if you entered the wrong email address. Try to recover gamertag in the profiles section and enter the correct email and password to see if it can retrieve your actual gamertag and profile.

My profiles on my xbox got erased i didnt erase them i just turned it on one yesterday and they were all gone

go to the dashboard and push the middle button go to the home section and highlight the bit that says recover gamertag... press A and it will prompt you for your gamertag name, then your email address and password.. then your xbox will retrieve you profile for you. you need to do this once for every profile however, as it wont recover more than one at a time :)

Signed up to xbox via online xbox, not console.

What you should try and do is set up a "guest" profile. I'm assuming you just bought your Xbox and have turned it on for the first time? Hence you need a gamertag to get your Xbox set up.
They simply need to have a profile on there so you can go to the dashboard. (Hence why people usually create their Xbox Live Gold accounts on their actual Xbox 360.
Forget for a moment, that you already have a gamertag. Create a new gamertag (you will automatically get a silver account) once you get to the dashboard, you will be able to go to profiles and the very last option and select "recover gamertag" because at the moment, your gamertag isn't on your actual console yet. Put in the details of your gamertag, password, email etc. And accept the terms & use then recover the gamertag.
I'm not sure, but you may be able to recover your gamertag the very first time you turn on your Xbox (which is what you may be having trouble with). If you could, let me know some more of the details and I could give you a more specific answer.
1. Recover gamertag

1. Create a new gamertag (NOT gold, NOT on
2. Recover gamertag through profiles --> recover gamertag

Hope I was of some help.

How do i access downloaded content from an old profile I paid for and downloaded maps for halo 3 on an old profile which ran out. when i started a new profile i couldnt access those maps. xbox 360

This should be easy :) I made a few phone calls for you and did some research and I learned about this service that Xbox offers called DRM transfer. DRM stands for Digital Rights Management. Basically what happens is your right to play your DLC is on your old gamertag and not your console. So your knew gamertag doesn't have the rights. So simply go to Sign in to your gamertag that you used to buy the DLC (it's okay if it's a silver account) and follow the instructions on the page. In the end you should be able to use your DLC on your xbox no matter what gamertag you use or if you're online or offline.

NOTE: You may have to re-download them if they still don't work to update the DRM, but it should be free to re-download.

I hope this helps. Good luck with your DLC and remember Ratings are always nice :)

When i got my xbox i did not have live now i have how can i put all my saved games on my new profile ?

Unfortunately not. The saved games are tied to the gamertag that played them. Did you add live to your existing gamertag, or did you create a new gamertag? If you created a new one, you'll not be able to play those old saves on the new tag.

My ebox just deleted my entire profile

Just use the "Recover Profile" option on the dashboard.

NOTE: This only works if your connected to Xbox Live and the profile has been recently Synced with The Xbox live Servers So No Live=No Profile Recovery.
The Recover Gamertag function is on the same side bar where you login to a profile..

After your Xbox starts hit the Xbox button on your controller and 'Recover Gamertag from Xbox Live' should be right under 'Create New Profile'..

Once you select 'Recover Gamertag from Xbox Live' it will walk you through the steps required..
I would suggest you to visit the forum and discuss your problem

How to switch porfiles without losing 12 month subscription

the new profile is COMPLETELY separate from your original account. If your new profile has a 12 month subscription then nothing will take that away until 12 months expires. your old profile however is a separate entity in itself. you can always recover that profile if you still have all of your credentials. i.e. email, password, and gamertag.

Overwrote a profile

To recover your gamertag from Xbox LIVE:
  1. Sign out from all of your profiles. The fastest way to do this is to press the Xbox Guide button, press X, and select Yes, sign out.
  2. Select Recover Gamertag.
  3. Follow the directions on the screen. Note

You can enter information using a USB keyboard plugged into a controller port, the Xbox 360 Chatpad (sold as part of the Xbox 360 Messenger Kit), or your Xbox 360 controller and the on-screen virtual keyboard.

  4. When you're finished, your profile will be downloaded from Xbox LIVE to your console and you'll see your avatar in the Sign In area. You're good to go!

If you're a minor, you'll be asked to supply Windows Live ID credentials for your parent, who will need to be present to complete the procedure. Your parent will need his or her own Windows Live ID and a valid e-mail address.

If you've forgotten your password or need help determining which e-mail address you associated with your Windows Live ID, see Xbox 360: Invalid E-mail Address or Password.
  5. If you're recovering a Zune Tag as your gamertag, check your billing information after recovery is complete. You may need to update your billing info before you can set up an Xbox LIVE Gold membership or download content from Xbox LIVE Marketplace.
