Its not a cheap fix, as the part alone costs over 300usd I would leave it to a professional myself.

Missing wire clamp on lamp housing.

Well, I fixed it myself. I used a wire hanger, measured and cut a portion off, bent it in a shape that fit in the housing and around the light bulb. Turned out pretty nice if I do say so myself. TV is working fine and dandy now! =)

Glass or something behid the screen broke

Misha, I have bad news for you.

There is only one part behind that screen to break - a rather large mirror.

To verify:

Lay the TV down, face down, on a towel.
Remove the screw from the upper rar black plastic housing.
Lift straight off - you should see the mirror, or what is left of it, attached to the black plastic.

Sorry for your loss.

If you are interested in selling the ballast, let me know.

I need to replace the bulb in my TV. Is this something I can do myself?

Hi meggmassey,

Since your post does not include your model, the answer to your question includes a little bit of research on your part.

Because televisions which use bulbs require periodic bulb replacement (simply because of the nature of a light bulb), some manufacturers have made the light bulb serviceable by the consumer. Often this is done by having the bulb in a housing that is simple to replace, typically accessible without accessing the rest of the internal parts.

To find out if this is the case with your television, I recommend consulting your owner’s manual or calling the manufacturer’s product support line.

Thank you,
Jason,

Tv Shuts off occasionally 1min upon power up shows red lamp light

Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.

For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.

Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:

12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected

Hi! sweet123,

Please answer this question. Were the 4 bulbs visabley bad; say broken or did they have a milkey look, or broken wire inside? In other words did the bulbs you replaced look as good as a new unused bulb? Please reply.

How long does a lamp/bulb of a Toshiba DLP 46HM95 46 in last?

Your bulb may be blowing because of airflow issues or power cycling issues, first does your outlet get switched off at any point in time? if so you may be killing the bulb before it cools, if you turn the set on/off alot and or restart it after off quickly this could lead to permature bulb failure, if the original lamp was not replaced with a proper lamp to match the ballast it could blow the bulb. If your tv is too near a heat vent or the airflow thru the set is not adequate it could blow the bulb.

MY TV has a blue cloud on the left side

Blue lcd is burnt up.. Normally happens due to excess heat from poor ventilation or not changing the lamp at the required time.. Allways happens on the blue as blue light is the hottest wave length, and as the lamp burns, it shifts to that side. Nothing you can do but replace the lcd itself. From the image shown, looks like the unit uses sony lcds.. Sonys are well known for there burns.. No quick fix on this one.
