there is probably nothing wrong with Dishwasher itself.
Your Sink drain is stopped up or your Garbage disposal is clogged.
usually, dishwasher drain is connected to the Garbage Disposal, but if the dishwasher empties the water into the Garbage disposal, if its clogged then water will come out of the sink. Same if sink is clogged between sink and sewer.
If you fill up your sink and then water drains away, then you know your sink itself is not the problem. If its only the Garbage disposal side that does not drain, its the garbage disposal that is clogged.
most common, debris stuck in the drain pump. remove the triple filter, remove the non return valve. clear the debris from the drain pump impeller. try to drain again. also make sure you dont have an obstruction in the drain line. if you replaced your garbage disposal recently, make sure they knocked out the drain plug when they connected the dishwasher. also make sure your dishwasher drain line connects directly to the disposal, and does not run to a air gap in your countertop. miele dishwashers will not function properly when connected to an air gap.
Hi, It is probably a drain
fault. Try checking the drain spigot at the sink end where the drain
hose connects as these are usually the cause of most dishwasher
faults.Or else try checking the airgap at the top of your sink, if nothing there then
check the end of the drain line usually connected to the garbage
disposal if you have one. I would reccomend disconnecting the end of
the drain line and putting it into a bucket. Let the dishwasher run for
30 seconds and if it drains then its a problem with your garbage
disposal. If not contact Miele technical support nearby to
troubleshoot the fault code
Hello RD, Every Miele dishwasher is designed to drain water in the first 30 seconds of any cycle. Does your intake/drain light come on at all? Miele technical services can troubleshoot the fault code if you do get an intake/drain light. The most common issue I have seen is that the dishwasher drain line is clogged. Solution - Try checking the airgap at the top of your sink, if nothing there then check the end of the drain line usually connected to the garbage disposal if you have one. I would reccomend disconnecting the end of the drain line and putting it into a bucket. Let the dishwasher run for 30 seconds and if it drains then its a problem with your garbage disposal. Turn off the power source to the garbage disposal. Take the drain hose from the dishwasher off the connector going to the disposal (if connected). Insert a flat blade screwdriver in the drain hose fitting and tap a few times with a hammer. The plastic plug will pop off inside the garbage disposal. Reach inside from the top of the disposal to retrieve the plastic plug. Sometimes you have to use a little force to tap the plug out. Hope this helps you.
There is a drain hole in the side (probably) of the garbage disposal which must be manually "punched out" in order to attach the hose from the dishwasher to the garbage disposal and thereby allow for draining. Think of this as the dishwasher piggy-backing on the existing drain system for the sink/garbage disposal. I am certain this will solve your problem.
