My cannon copy machine puts a black line down the center of my paper that I copy. How do I fix that? You did not give me any solution to this.

  • tooncesc Nov 15, 2008

My copy machine is a cannon 350. It is a small personal copy machine that I use for school work. I am a teacher.

  • tooncesc Nov 15, 2008

Not sure I have not tried it yet. I will go to school and get the machine and give it a try. I'll let you know.

Remove and clean the Photo Conductor Unit (the drum).
Remove and gently tip from side to side the toners to make the powder inside even.

If the black stripe only shows up in a copy but not by printing from the computer, inspect and clean the flatbed scanner glass.

Please clean the scanner glass some thing like a thread or a hair like thin material is got stuck on the glass so its giving that line when ever u make a copy.
it can also happen if any ink like stuff has got stuck on the gears of the machine.just clean the glass and gears of the machine carefully .it will solve your problem.
thanks

I need more information before I can troubleshoot, like what is the model number, does this happen only for copies, is your unit a multifunction printer, etc..

Generally, this issue is caused by a faulty drum unit. Check the drum and look for any silver marks on it. If you do, it means the drum is faulty, and you will need to replace it. Also take out the toner cartridge, and try to redistribute the toner by shaking the cartridge back and forth for a bit. It could also be that the drum cleaning wiper is dirty/broken and will have to be replaced.

In all probability, however, I'd say it is a faulty drum unit. You can contact Canon at this number for addition support: 1-800-828-4040

Panasonic dp3010 copier stripes on paper

Not exactly sure what you are asking but if the problem is that you are getting fine lines down the paper (the copy is ok though) then take a real close look atr the glass platen (the plate glass in which the paper goes on. Assuming you are using the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) area. This area is usually about an inch wide by 8.5" long. Look for either "White out" or black ink on the glass (it can be as small as a dot) clean this mark off with glass cleaner and you problem will be solved. Sometimes it helps to orientate your copy with the line on it to the machine to locate the mark causing the issue.

Good Luck!

Black stripe running down left side of paper when

Open the top of the fax where your documents go in. There will be a thin **** of glass where the document is read. On the end that reads "dirty" is a smudge or some white-out that needs to be cleaned. You may have to clean it with some cloth wrapped on a flat tool. Do not scrap or scratch anything, just clean enough to get the dirt off. Then make a test copy.

XEROX CopyCentre C20-Blank stripe going down side

Open the cover and put a piece of paper on only half the glass, and make a copy. BLOCK the left side of the glass with the blank paper.
See where it is blank. Most of the times that is a dirty or haved up mirror in the scan head. One of the small mirrors in the black assembly under the lamp. When a digital copier scanner optics become dirty, the image in that area becomes very light .

take out the toner unit, I'm pretty sure the drum comes with it, look for a shiny cylinder, does it have a black ring around it? yes replace.
No, it may be coming from the fuser (exit wwhere toner melts to paper) not for the novice to do.

PAPER PRINTING OUT WITH BLACK LINES AND MARKS

When coping I have a black line down the left side of the page. This only happens when I'm copying NOT when I'm printing off a document from Word or the Internet on my computer. How can I get rid of this black line?

Horizontal black and white lines are coming on copy

you don't mention whether the document you are copying also appears on the paper. If it does you could have 1 of 2 problems-
The drum cleaning system could be at fault or-
the fuser roller has picked up some **** easy test...... run copies and when the 1st copy edge appears switch OFF. This is a crash stop. Now examine the sheets in there. Is the stripe on the copy before the fuser (Heat) roller? If yes you could have a drum cleaning problem, usually fixed by changing the drum module. If no and the stripe appears after the heat roll, the problem is with the fuser system, dirty rolls etc. There are a number of other problems with stripes, but you have to start somewhere! If the document does NOT appear on the copy, forget all above, could be scan or ROS problem

Black stripe on copies

Please be more specific.

Are the lines appearing in the direction the paper exits the machine, or from the front of the paper to the rear?
