    Dear Sir:
Since this a matter from High Teck, you must know digital electronic advance, you must know the DVOM, and other instrument for to execute differents Test, Of course you must have the complete, wiring diagram, adn schematic diagram, and service manual, for diverse operation test. All I can tell you, is better to call some service Tec field, and execute the operation. In that way you have more guarantee. You can pass a lot of time, and frustration try to replae component, and NOT fix it.

Remember I have 42 year to become a Electrical and Electronic Engineer, and I did make a lot of work in maintenance, I see frustation when you do not have a complete information in your Hands. However if you want to try go to the next page: www.fitnessrepairparts.com get the w. diagram+s. diagram+service manual, but you NEED to pay. sincerely. God bless you

SOURCE: My Proform XP Trainer 580 started to speed up

Dear Sir:

Thank you by your request, I hope everything is fine.

I will try to help you inmediately.

Connectthe test leads to the volt-ohmmeter. Plug the black test leads into the blackjack marked "Com" or "Common" on the front of the meter. Plugthe red test lead into the red jack marked "Volts/Ohms" on the frontof the meter.

    • 2
Setthe meter's function switch to "Ohms" and the range switch to the"R x 1" scale. If your digital multimeter is an auto ranging meter, you will not have a range switch. Instead, you'll have just a function switchbecause the meter will automatically select the right range for the quantitythat you are measuring.

Turnoff the power and remove the fuse to be tested from the circuit. Never test afuse for continuity while it is still connected to the circuit that it is usedto protect. If the circuit still has voltage, the meter will be irreparablydamaged. If the fuse is still in the circuit when tested it is possible to geta false indication that the fuse is good if the meter gets a completed circuitthrough other circuit components. To be safe, always remove the fuse from thecircuit before testing it.

Touchthe black test probe to one end of the fuse and the red test probe to the otherend of the fuse. It does not matter which probe you touch to which end becausefuses are not polarized. You are checking to see if there is continuity throughthe fuse element. A reading of approximately 0.5 on a digital meter's LCDindicates a good fuse. Most digital meters read their own internal fusesresistance, hence 0.5 Ohms and not 0.00 Ohms. LCD readout of "O.L."indicates no continuity through the fuse. The fuse is bad and needs to bereplaced.
I hope that you can Handle the DVOM(Digital Voltimeter)
Thank you in advance, sincerely. Blessing.

Proform tredmill starts runs 10 sec and beeps twice and stops

I would suggest unplugging the unit from the wall and waiting 30 second and plugging it back in. Then go to where the AC cord enters the machine and look for a reset button or switch. Put it in the reset position and see if this solves the problem. Depending on model the reset may be on the bottom of console.

hi there,
I do suggest ringing Icon Fitness and organizing a tech to come out and fix. The reed switch is rarely the problem with any treadmill.

2) adjust the speed sensor, test for open or faulty, clean it and tight the plug very well. see the diagram attached.
3) Test the inclination motor for overheating Try to LUBE
4) Lube the deck belt according with the schedule maintenance.

My proform 580 runs for 1/2 second, shuts of, and resets and will repeat this as many times that you push the start button

HI,
Your treadmill have problem with the motor control board. The motor control IGBT is faulty thats why its stars at high speed and shuts off immediately by sensing over current drain. The solution is replacing the motor control board or replacing the IGBT on the motor control board. To replace the IGBT you should have a through knowledge in electronics. If you need any more assistance feel free to contact me through FixYa.

Proform EKG Cross Trainer Treadmill-will not operate since it has been moved. When the speed is set, it will start at the set speed and immediately decrease until it stops. Also, the incline will not...

check to see that the speed sensor did not move with the actual relocation of the machine. You may also need to recalibrate the machine so that it can figure out its own speed settings. With the incline not working also that can lead to a bad motor controller and these can go bad with too much moving of a machine - any bumps in the road can cause the electronics to short out if it has been previously used - grounding electricity out of components prior to moving prevents this from happening so that the stored electricity does not discharge with bumps in the road

I used my 705 on my trainer and it did not record distance or speed like my forerunner does. The 705 works fine on the road

the Garmin Edge series rely on GPS to track your location from point A to point B thereby calculating your speed and distance. Its no different from any other GPS unit which require a clear view of the sky. It does not sense wheel movement, so using any GPS on a trainer will show no movement and using it indoors will give you a bad signal. The sensor on the crank used on the Edge 705 is only for cadence and not speed.
