Question about GE WPRB9220D Top Load Washer
I tried to pull the necklace out but it would not budge - now I guess I need to remove the agitator but I can seem to get it out. I took the fabric softener part off but I can see how to the next section off. I believe that the model # is WBSR31400 - not sure where to find the model number.

SOURCE: clogged fabric Softener
I had the same issue, and ran vinegar through the fabric dispenser with a load of towels. Not only did it solve the 'sour towel' problem I had with that load, it also cleared my fabric softener section. Now, I water down all fabric softner when I use it, which is less frequently!

SOURCE: I have a front load
There are 3 things to check.
- Check the Inlet Valve, sometimes it is a 3 way inlet valve, and the solenoid responsible for water to die Soap Box might be malfunctioning.
Easy way of testing: Attach normal power to both points (Does not matter which side is which, as it is an alternating current) - Be sure to check the voltage of the solenoid, which would be displayed on it 110V or 220v - apply power accordingly. Then attach hose and tap to it, and switch power on and off to the solenoid: ON - Water should flow through, OFF - Water should cease.
- Check the Soap Box Upper area/roof (After removing Die Soap Dispenser Drawer), they got small holes where the water should come through, sometimes (Yet rarely) these get clogged - You can clean it with toothpicks.
- The simplest thing to check is too see if your Dispenser drawer has a siphon cap installed in the softener compartment - Remove this cap and clean the hole under it, and give the cap a good cleaning as well.
If all 3 these things are tried and tested and found correct, then your PCB / Timer may not be giving power to the solenoid when softener should be applied - You can test power to the solenoid mid cycle to check if power goes through to the solenoid after Main wash - If it does not, you need to replace the PCB / Timer.
Hope this helps you :-)
