Question about Amana Air Conditioners

My Amana Gas Fired Air Furnace (80) failed to come on with warm air. Blower works but cold air only? Is there an obvious problem here?

If you can look into the viewing port and see if there is a light blinking write down how many times it blinks. Next remove the access panel from the furnace. On the wiring diagram, you will find a diagnostic code chart. Match up the blinking light to the chart and it will give you a starting point.

Amana 80sse furnace fire up work for about 10 min. It goes in lockout and inducer motor stay on

Robert, that is a typical indication of the furnace cycling on its high temperature switch. Look for a dirty filter, return air blockage or any other thing that would cause air flow restriction across the heat exchanger. If nothing else is evident, possibly attempt changing the heating speed to medium low or medium high for heat to improve air flow. But if it worked with no changes prior to this problem, it has to be lack of air flow that is causing the issue.

Furnance blows out cold air

Your problem is listed under Air Conditioners--
So is your furnace gas fired, oil fired-- or possibly a Heat pump?

Heat pumps have a hard time getting any heat from outside, when it is bitter cold out-- could that be a clue?

If you have gas-- Does your furnace have a standing pilot?-- if so, when was the Thermocouple last changed?
If it has a glow ignitor-- is the ignitor glowing brightly on start up?

If oil, do you have both oil and spark-- right at the nozzle tip-

Please tell us more, so we can help you more.

I have a weather king model 90RJ - first time I've had hot air heat..When I turn on the heat, the blower turns on right away ( blowing cold air) - I understand that the ducts have to cleared of the cold...

When the furnace first comes on there is a induced draft motor that should come on first but that forces air up the exhaust or flue, not into supply air on ductwork. It is not unusual for cold air to be blown out when burner first turns blower motor on. This should last for a short period of time, no more than a min. or two. You can watch furnace cycle by removing top front cover, I should back up here and ask is this a gas or electric unit. If it is gas you should be able to watch burner flames for a short time before blower comes on. I really need more information so I can try to ascertain what is going on. Wish I could be more help. Thank you.

No power to ac indoor fan motor

sounds like you might have a bad control board. try putting a jumper wire on the control board low voltage terminals R and G your fan should come on and run if you have 120v power to fan motor. double check that you do have 120 leaving board and going to motor. if no 120 bad board if you do have 120 bad motor. if it is the board it likely has a bad blower relay which is common in amana models and goodman equipment.

Amana Gas furnace, Air Command 80 SV. Does not ignite. The blower turns on, then gas valve opens. I can hear a mechanical switch close, which is probably the igniter control. But no spark, no flame. ...

Buy a new ignitor here; The Ignitor Store. Or talk an Amana dealer/Contractor to sell you one. They can range from 15 to 35 bucks! Depending on their mark-up. Give them your model number, and or ignitor part number. Their simple to change out, good luck, please contact if you have any questions.

Amana furnace

This is no doubt due to failure of the "hot surface ignitor". This device lights the main burners for your furnace, and they fail a lot. I strongly recommend the replacement should be done by a technician.

Need to know what size Blower motor I need for and Amana SSE 80 furnace.

The blower size is selected based on the details of your home. The size of the motor must match the tonnage of the A/C. The tonnage of the A/C will be determined with a heat gain/loss calculation.I believe there are at least 2 options for this furnace 3 Ton, and 4Ton.
