Question about Vtech 5.8GHz Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System
I have Vtech i6725 phone. The phones were functioning fine. Recently one handset will not work. It reads "NOT REGISTERED" in the handset display. We tried unplugging bases and replugging that did not work. When the unregistered handset is placed in the base, the display reads "FIND HNDSET FOR 4 SEC." We tried pressing the find handset button but that does not work, the handset goes back to displaying "not registered" Anyone know how to get the handset registered?
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

SOURCE: Not Registered
I had the same problem and this procedure fixes it! First, unplug the power to the main base (answering machine) for 20 seconds. Plus it back in. Put the phone that says "not registered" in the main answering machine. It will say "press the find handset for 4 seconds". Do that. It will run thru a series of stuff and will find the handset. It works! Rich (jambones.com)

SOURCE: phones cant find base
tried the same - battery solution.. my phone is 1.2 years old. DO NOT BUY A VTECH PHONE - they look nice, but they are JUNK! And the speakerphone sucks.

1. Delete or listen to all voice mail messages, if necessary, to clear the IN USE/Voice Mail light indicator.
Note: Skip this step if it does not apply to your MD Series cordless telephone model.
2. Press OFF on the base station and each handset.
3. Press and hold down PAGE on the base station until the IN USE light flashes slowly, then release.
4. Press and hold down PAGE again until the IN USE light begins to flash quickly, then release PAGE.
5. Quickly and fully press and release PAGE again.
6. Please register handset displays. Press OK to begin the registration process, or press EXIT.

I can vouch for the second solution. It worked perfectly on my 2461 with two extensions. Even the vTech website was not able to provide a solution.
