RCA F32450 TV can not get the TV to display the DVD menu
I got a RCA F32450 32" TV from my brother-in-law w/ o a remote or user's manual and hooked up our Samsung dvd player to the tv. I hooked it up the same way we did on our Sony TV (Video and audio cables from the DVD player to the Input 1 sockets). I can not get the TV to display the DVD menu or show when it is recording. On my Sony there was a TV/Video selection and I could select either the AV1 or AV2. I went into the RCA Gemstar TV menu under channel, auto tuning and then tried the DVD settings for ch 3, 4 and av 1 and av2 and also tried the VCR channel setting and the ch3, 4 , av1 and 2 w/ no luck.
Is there a place where I can download a free user's manual? I went to RCA sight for TVs and typed in the model no. w/ no luck on model no.
Is there a universal remote I could purchase to work w/ my F32450? Art

Hi, This tv has 2 AV inputs at rear to connect dvd player or any other video source. Plug RCA video cable in AV Input-1 at rear of tv and select Input-1 source in tv remote to get dvd player playback picture in tv. Click HERE to download user manual free copy that has details about tv operations. Hope these info will help you. Thanks.
good day,to connect your DVD to TV screen follow this steps.
1) prepare your RCA cable ( 3 colored cable yellow/red/white)
note: always remember this
yellow = video
red and white = Audio (left and right)
2) at the back or front display of your TV screen you'll see RCA socket
marked as "AV1 input" "AV2 input" etc... if your screen is only mono
sound you can only see two sockets Yellow=video white= audio
3) at the back of your DVD player connect the RCA cable following the
color code yellow to yellow white to white and red to red. after you
connect the cable to your dvd player now connect the other end of thr
RCA to your TV screen input.
make sure you'll connect it to "A/V input" not "A/V out" then after
connecting all the cables, from the remote commander of your TV screen
press a button indicating "A/V" some mark as "TV/AV" press this button
until your screen display the back ground display of your DVD player.
I'd first just hook up the DVD/VCR to the TV and get that working. I'm assuming all you need is the standard cable type connection. This will at least your 4 year old happy. Then you can experiment with the S cable. The S cable will give a cleaner signal from the DVD to the TV. then hook up audio and video cables from the Direct TV to the DVD input. The audio and video will be cleaner using S cables and audio and video cables, but stadard TV cable should get you going. You didn't mention what model DVD player you have. You may have to select the correct inout on the DVD for the Direct TV connection.
no it is not hopeless! if you want to do this procedure I can help you adjust the main screen focus inside the television on the FLYBACK TRANSFORMER but you will need to take it apart unless there are access holes in the back for the adjustment.
Question? Whenever I turn on the television, the GUIDE Plus+™ or GUIDE Plus+ GOLD™ on-screen program guide automatically comes on. Answer: The GUIDE Plus+™ or GUIDE Plus+ GOLD™ on-screen program guide automatically comes up when you use the TV button on the remote to turn on the TV. There are several ways to turn off this function if you wish, depending on your model.
Option A: Select the GUIDE Plus+™ Menu from the Main menu. Select Setup. Select Options. Select Off.
Option B: Select the GUIDE Plus+™ Menu from the Main menu. Select GUIDE Plus+™ Auto Display from the GUIDE Plus+ menu. Select Off.
Option C: Press GUIDE on your remote control. Select the Menu bar. Press the right arrow button to select Setup. Choose Review Options. Select Off.
I know Option C worked for me!!
Given the many TV models, it's possible that accessing control of this feature in the Program Guide menu may differ on your TV. For specific instructions for your model, see your owner's manual.
