How to install front facing baby start car seat

Identify the parts. A car seat will likely come with two parts - the base and the actual cradle itself. The base part is what will actually be in the car, while the baby cradle (seat) is removable and portable - the baby cradle can be taken out of the car and easily attaches to most grocery carts (the front part where bigger kids sit) and restaurant high chairs (move the standard restaurant high chair upside down and you will have yourself a cradle holder).

Give it a try. Place the booster flat on the backseat of your car and run the seat belt around it to hold it down - read your instructions and they will have detailed graphs on how the seat belt hurts. Also look at your car manual as they will have special instructions and buckles for car seats

Get confirmation. Move your baby seat cradle on top of the base (remember, it always faces the rear, when your child is old enough you will have to buy a different type of car seat that faces forward towards you). With your hand, sternly move your baby car seat from side to side, if the cradle is easily swaying your car booster is not securely fastened. Remove the cradle and pull the car seat belt as snug as you can and try again

Get double confirmation. Call your local fire department and make an appointment to stop by - they will check and confirm your car seat is installed securely. Remember, this could save your child's life so 10 minutes with your local fire department is only a very small inconvenience!

How do I remove the head rest to convert this car seat to a booster? The back plate and the head rest are connected and held on by a metal bar on the back of the car seat.

This car seat does not convert to a booster. It becomes a "Belt-positioning booster". The back and headrest remain while using as a booster. You remove the 5-point harness and use the car's shoulder strap seat belt.
The belt positioning is done by the plastic parts at the top on either side of the seat.

Hi,
please feel free to call at 1-800-544-1108 and they can send you a manual in case you dont have it.

*To convert the car seat into a booster seat, turn the car seat over and remove the pin that holds the base in place. tHEN REMOVE THE BELTS AND THE BUCKLE.
*To remove you need to bend/twist the keeper until you can push it UP through the seat and remove the belt/strap. It is now a booster seat for use with a lap/shoulder belt in the car. Store all the parts you removed in a ziploc bag for when your child outgrows it so it can be reused

Can you buy an adaptor to put a mutsy safe2go car

Hi,

No, there is no base for the Safe to Go. Your best bet may be to use a CabrioFix car seat instead.

Hope this helps.

How do you convert it from a car seat to a booster seat?

Take the base off if it has one, either clips, screws, or a metal rod holding it on. Take the belts out. They should slide off the clip at the back of the seat, then unthread belts from buckles. The buckle/strap between the legs usually has a metal keeper below the seat. To remove you need to bend/twist the keeper until you can push it UP through the seat and remove the belt/strap. It is now a booster seat for use with a lap/shoulder belt in the car. Store all the parts you removed in a ziploc bag for when your child outgrows it so it can be reused.

I haven't seen a video for it, but I'll try to explain it clearly. To install it with the LATCH system, locate the anchors in your car - U shaped metal anchors in the seat, where the back meets the bench part. See your car's owner's manual - many cars don't have LATCH in the middle of the back seat, so you'll have to install it in a side seat or use the seatbelt to install, instead. Recline the carseat all the way - there is a handle under the harness adjuster on the front of the seat. Pull the handle while pushing back on the top of the seat. Tuck the top tether strap under and hook it under the base or the seat - it's only used when forward facing and is dangerous if left flapping. Pull the seat cover off of the front corners of the seat. Thread the black latch belt through the rear facing belt path (the holes on the bottom front of the seat - there should be a sticker identifying the path), making sure that it does not twist and is behind, not over or in front of, the **** strap, but in front of the the slots that the bottom of the harness straps go through. Replace the seat cover. Put the carseat where you want it in the car. Look to see that the level lines on the shoulder belt positioning guide are level with the ground. Double check that the top tether is secured underneath the seat. Fasten one latch hook to the anchor in your seat, going from above the anchor, so that the clip part of the hook is on the bottom and the solid side is on top. Repeat on the other side. Kneel in the car seat to push it firmly into the seat while pulling the strap tight through the adjuster. The seat is installed tight enough when you can grab it at the belt path and can not move it more than 1 inch side to side. It is normal to be able to pull the top of the seat towards your car's seat back some. To install it with a seatbelt - (Please note - you can only install with the LATCH system OR the seatbelt - doing both together increases the stress and force on the seat and can damage it!) Recline the seat and secure the top tether as above. Place the seat in the car and make sure that the level lines are level with the ground, as above. Thread the seat belt through the rear facing belt path (again, the holes on the bottom front of the seat...look for the sticker). Thread it under the seat pad. Like above, it should go between the bottom slots for the harness and the **** strap. Buckle the seat belt. Kneel in the seat, pull the seat belt all the way out from it's feeder, and feed it back in, pulling it as tight as you can. Check for tightness as above. While your child is rear-facing, the harness should be in a slot that is even with or below his shoulders. Pull it snug - when it's tight enough, you shouldn't be able to pinch up any slack lengthwise at the shoulders or hips and it should lay in a straight line without any sagging. Make sure the chest clip is even with the baby's armpits, not over the neck or the belly. Good luck!

Installing 3rd row seat in a 1996 Tahoe

You will have to install the seat with the seatbelt, as you do not have the LATCH system.

It is highly dependent on the type of car seat , how you will install it, depending on where the holes ont he seat is.

If when you pull the belt, it locks on its own, you do not need a locking clip to ensure the tightness of the install.

Once you get the seat in super tight, pull the belt out, twist the female end of the stalk one time, then reattach seatbelt. Should give a very tight fit.

Best best is to check out the safekids.com web site and see who is a car seat installer in your area to help you out
Thank you!
