Clutch not egaging with basket for my profile harmony washer

I followed everything you said for the one person you helped. i got the message saying what is wrong with it. I unplugged it and let it run it's set up. and still after the set up is done i still get there is a problem with this unit. How do i make the clutch egage with the basket. my husband has looked and looked and looked and tried to fix it the best he could but still nothing... We are able to move the basket with no problem.. Please i am at a stand still with money.. It's hard to pay for someone to come out when you have no money..My e-mail is mistzyhayes1@aol.com if you can help me in any way poss. Thank you

    Hi, I am having the same problem could you send me the scans from service manual also. I also get the clutch is not engaging message and I've unplugged and went through the set up and still the same something wrong has been detected with unit.

    We've got the same problem and resetting did not work. Is there any way I can get the scanned pages also? Any other ideas? Thanks!

    I had the same problem/error code. I drained the tub, shook the basket (it was "free"), got the clutch to lock (resistance in the basket assy) and found a quarter stuck between the the side and bottom of the basket. Removed the quarter, ran the start up and all is well. The quarter was hidden against the stainless basket.

If you are getting the message " The clutch is not mechanically engaging with the basket properly " the service manual says to check wiring connections, clutch motor or inverter board.
I rarely see a wiring issue. I'd check the clutch arm and clutch coupler too. They are nylon parts. I'll send you a couple pages from the service manual as soon as I get a chance to scan a few.

undo the main bolt under the washer pull of the brake hub undew 5 0r 6 bolts and undo 2 plugs there are coil magnets i say about 20 clean them with air and use fine grit sandpaper on the end and inside the brake drum tri that it worked for me

Have a message on GE Profile Harmony washer that say " a problem has been detected with the unit" help?


Washers - Harmony Washer Error Message or Code
The Harmony washer electronics can automatically determine if problems exist with the machine. Sometimes an error code can also be present because of things the machine cannot control: like changes in house voltage, water pressure, or temperature.

"A problem has been detected with this unit" will be displayed on the screen.

The most common solution for this message is to turn the machine OFF and then ON. However, this message will sometimes cause the control to stop the machine from working. With this type of error, the control panel will need to be reset. The following steps will allow you to reset your control.

Solution:

1. Clear the ERROR from the screen: Press and hold the MY CYCLES and BACK buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The control will display any recorded errors. Please write down what error codes are shown on your screen in case service is needed. If a MORE icon is displayed on the screen, press MORE to list additional errors. When the EXIT button appears, press EXIT.
2. Remove Power: Follow the onscreen instructions to remove power (unplug unit) and then immediately plug unit back in.
3. Clear Setup Mode: After power is restored, a setup screen that begins with "Congratulations..." will be shown. DO NOT PRESS the OK button shown at the bottom of the screen. Press the START/STOP and POWER buttons simultaneously until the Home Screen is displayed. Your unit is ready to function normally.

Wptg9350c profile harmony washer- hot water slowly fills washer


That is not normal. Usually this happens because of a faulty inlet valve or because of a faulty control/timer board. The inlet valve is tested first and eventually replaced.

If the valve is ok , then proceed in testing the timer board.

I seen that you might know whats wrong with my washer???


1 press power ( to wake up washer)
2 press Home ( it may already show HOME)
3 press HELP
4 press and hold MY CYCLES and BACK (for 3 to 5 seconds)

the service mode diagnostics screen will come up
it will show what errors are recorded..( if more button is displayed then also go to next list)

be sure to write them down exit will clear the codes and run a test

GE Profile Harmony Clutch probs./Invertert PCB history


Your inverter board is operating 7 degrees over the max temp...

Clear this error be exiting the service mode and run set up ...
if it comes back you will need to replace inverter board....

Hi: Replace motor asm w/clutch part no. wh20x10024

 If you can put the washer to its side on the floor, check if the small white motor turns when you press start cicle.
