Yellow spots & dulling picture

ARe the bulb and "light engine" the same? It appears this may need to be changed. Is there more than one? Is this something I can do myself? Where can I purchase these most reasonably?

No they are not the same, two completely different componenents

www.partstore.com

the above website should have a new part

It is only the light engine that you should be replacing which is a pricey part

No, as far as I know, These parts are related but they are not the same.

Its not a cheap part have a look around this website
http://www.nexttronics.com/catalog/hitachi/U/UX22201DR.htm - note that this is most likely not the part you need, look for the correct part with your model number, or part number.

No, the light engine is the whole assembly that the bulb fits in, They aren't cheap, though you could probably replace it yourself with a little patience in a couple of hours or so.

you can fix the dimmed look to the tv by purchasing a new ballast for the DLP bulb.

drewpalmer04_12.jpg
The spots are non-repairable as they are in the light engine assembly and those are nearly $500-$600 and very labor intense to install.

Hope this helps. Click the hyperlink above to buy the ballast.

Having a big yellow spot background in the middle of the picture.

Hi , it seems you are experimenting a light engine problem. Here's how your tv works: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLLHnQ4y-wo Basically there's 3 LCD chips that create the colors and image by blending together. When these chips start to melt you will get those blue spots, pixilation even vertical lines. You will need to replace the light engine. Have a blessed one!

I Followed the directions and changed the bulb. When

there is a burn spot on one of the light filters located next to the blue lcd panel. it is caused from excessive heat and dust. unfortunately, you'd need to replace the entire optical engine because infocus does not sell individual optical engine parts.

CRT monitor's background colour is changed to dull yellow colour

hello,
i think this problem accure due to chage of CRT CATHODE. if you are not a hardware engineer then check it from hardware engineer. any crt monotor have 3 RGB Cathode to release electron on screen. the electron comes shodow mask and create a pixel on the screen the pixel make a picture. The RGB color make the perfect picture. if your picture is dull then i think that happen due to less negative chage of Cathode or any Crt base Bios ic is failior. so you have to checked it from hardware engineer.
ok

Try the new lamp as indicated by the blink codes. That may resolve the problem. If not, the problem is in the "light engine" portion of the set which should be covered under warranty.

Yellow spot on Sony 55"

Possible dust in light engine? What ever you do, don't blow it out with the set on or hot. This easily equals instant death to bulb.

Yellow Spot

Sorry that I have to be the one to let you know this but the light engine in your set has a spot that has developed on your lens. It is not possibile to clean this without making your picture worse. The light engine would need to be replaced in your set to fix this and the cost will not be cost effective. Part number is 3141VSN916C and I cant find it at any dealer for less than 1200 dollars.
