My phone was working just fine until this afternoon. For some reason, when I press the voice command button on the side of the phone, the screen merely flickers on instead of staying on. No more voice commanding. Furthermore, when I dial, the buttons don't make the little beep they used to. And when I try to play my mp3s, the screen looks as if they're playing but there is no sound to be heard. Phone calls are recieved just fine, and when I press the speaker phone button for calls, everything works fine as well. What is wrong? What can I do? I've plugged in the head set and that doesn't seem to change anything either.

Are you talking about voice command on your device or voice command on your phone? Are you doing a long press or a short press of call button? it will behave differently based on how long you press.

Good morning, afternoon, evening or night; whatever time you're reading this. Your complaint is that the stations on your radio do not work and it just rings for no apparent reason? The possible cause of this could be your alert setting. Your alert setting may be set on TONE. When this setting is activated, a ringing sound will be played on your radio for 5 minutes or until any button other than the Weather/Snooze button, on your radio is pressed. If this is the cause to your problem, you need to change your alert type setting. Here are the steps to doing this task...
Press the MENU button.
Use the directional up button until "ALT TYPE" is showing on your screen.
Press SELECT
Using the directional up or down buttons, choose DISPLAY or VOICE.
When this is done, press SELECT.
Press the directional up button until "ALT TEST" is shown on the screen.
Test your alert type to find out if you'd prefer this setting.
If this setting is preferred, press SELECT and MENU to exit. If you prefer to choose another setting, press MENU, then the directional down button until "ALT TYPE" is showing on your screen. Repeat steps 3 through 8.

I am not familiar with the LG Shine, however, the last three LG flip phones I have owned were voice activated by pressing the button on the left side of the phone ... there are three, one stand alone, and one that is a rocker (press the top for one function, the bottom for a different function) switch. Press the bottom ...
Listen to the phone, you have hit pay dirt when the girl says Please Say a Command ... or similar.
On mine, if I wait for it to be fully connected with the phone, then press the button one time, the blackberry ask for the correct voice command. However, if I press the button twice, it will dial the last number called.
Hit your Voice command button on the right upper outside of phone,
Hit Settings
Hit 1
make sure Automatic is Checked, hit ok
Now Try Voice Command button again, and then
hit your upper Right Softkey for Help on commands...
I am sad to say that the voice recognition failure is permanent on most of the E815 phones. Your phone will likely never support voice dialing again, even though the cause remains unknown.
I too had the peculiar problem of pressing the voice button and hearing a beep, but no voice prompt ("Say a command"). When I researched the issue, I found a plethera of similar problem reports. Very few reported recovery after simply restarting the phone. I even found one report of Motorola tech support giving up and instructing the owner of the phone to have it replaced.
I have the same problem
