I have the max amount of memory installed and plenty of hd space but youtube videos and netflix movies freeze up often but not every time. unable to get ethernet cable at location so this is on wi fi with a u s b 10x booster.
Change the make of the wifi unit? Chipset overheated maybe your problem?
I have experience with USB wifi units that overheated and when downloading software it slows down terribly due to chipset overheating. 10x booster does not help WiFi in general. I use older 802.11/b wifi to get DSSS mode which transmit data faster. /g/n OFDM tends to have too many garbled packets resend, which also slows down data transmission.
WiFi chipset problem overheating during download, will show up in firefox download manager which shows the speed of download slowing down as it overheats?

SOURCE: Dell Inspiron Mini 10 abruptly shuts down every time I watch video
This is common with the Inspiron line of laptops. It's caused by over-heating. It is an air flow issue. Two things you can do to help alleviate the problem:
First, with the machine powered down and unplugged, use a can of canned-air to blow the vents and fans free of dust clogs.
Second, install rubber
bumpers on the bottom of the laptop to elevate it off the surface. This will allow air to flow freely under the machine and in and out of the proper vents and fans. You can get these just about anywhere. They are just little rubber nubs with a self-adhesive side. Peel and stick.

Sounds
that the wireless adapter daughter board is either loose or failing.
First, we need to make sure it is making good contact with the laptop's
motherboard. In order to do this, we have to do the following:
1. Turn off the laptop & remove the battery.
2.
Look at the compartments in the bottom of the laptop. You should be
able to see 2 or 3 areas with small rectangular plates covering them.
These plates usually have one or 2 screws holding them in place.
3.
Check which one of those plates is the one which covers the wireless
adapter daughter board. When you find it unscrew its screws & remove
it.
4. Below the plate, there will be a small daughter board screwed
to the laptop's motherboard, with 2 thin wires attached to it (usually
one black wire & the other is a white wire). Gently, remove both
wires using a small flat screw driver to pull them out gently. Don't
forget to note down which wire connects to which connection point.
5. Unscrew the wireless adapter daughter board & remove it from its slot.
6.
Clean both the slot & the daughter board's terminal connectors
using a dry electric contact cleaner. You can purchase it at an
electronics store.
7. Leave the slot & the daughter board for a while to dry.
8. Re-place the daughter board back in the slot & screw it to the motherboard.
9. Reconnect the 2 wires.
10. Screw back the covering plate.
11. Put back the battery & turn on the laptop. Check if the problem was fixed.
If
this did not fix the problem, you will need to repeat the steps to
remove the wireless adapter daughter board & replace it with a new
one.
SOURCE: i disabled the wireless (wi-fi)
Hi there !
It is not uninstalled, maybe you just disable. Just go control panel and choose network setting and choose network connection and enable it to bring back the icon for wifi internet.
