Question about ASUS P5VD2-MX SE Motherboard

Inno3d 9800gt is it compatible with asus p5vd2-mx motherboards?

I'm not sure what to upgrade PSU or motherboard. i don't see anything on my screen its like on idle state. i don't have a 6-pin connector on my PSU so i bought a 4-pin to 6-pin converter. the fan on the graphics card is working though but nothing on my screen.

What I beleive is your problem is that a single 4Pin connector doesn't provide enough of the right power connections. I have a 9600GT and like you my PSU doesn't have a 6pin connector. But fortunately for me the manufacturer of my card (BFG) had the Foresight to include the adapter that I need (Which was a Y cable with 2 4pin (Molex) connectors to one 6pin (PCIe) connector.

First thing I'd do is check ALL of your packaging to see if your manufacturer also included such an adapter. It may be hiding (Taped to the inside of the cardboard packaging or stuffed in a bag with papers/warranty info)

Retail boxes usually list the parts included so you can look to see if a "duplex molex to PCIe" is on it.
If this search proves futile, you might check at your local PC hardwarestore (Best buy, Circuit city, or if you have a specialty store like MilwaukeePC here in Milwaukee)

If that is not an option and you have a credit card/Paypal account you can try an online retailer such as NewEGG or CDW jsut add the dot com to their names for their websites.

I hope you find this Usefull

COMPATIBLE GRAPHICS CARD WITH P5GC MX/1333 ASUS MOTHERBOARD. Whether 1 gb card can be fitted

Yes you can put a 1 gb card. The motherboard has PCI Express so you don't have to worry to much. The older AGP cards are almost gone.

You could buy a GeForce 8500, 8600, or 8800, or the 9 series. You can also buy a Radeon HD 5870 or 5570.

If you need further assistance, please post. And do not forget to rate.

I have a P5VD2-MX motherboard, currently I have a Geforce 7900GS.

Hi!

Since there is 1 PCI Express x16 slot you can use any PCI Express GPU, like Asus GeForce GTX 260 896MB PhysX CUDA, EVGA GeForce 9800GT 512MB PhysX CUDA, Gainward GeForce 9800GT 512MB PhysX CUDA or whatever you want as long as it is a PCI EPRESS card.

Good luck

Vga compatibility

It appears that that model is AGP slot based, so it would not work in a PCI slot.

EVGA 8800GTS g92 with ASUS P5VD2-MX SE

Suggestion 1: Try switching your Monitor's plug from one DVI to the other. This shouldn't do anything, because your graphic card should display the booting sequence on all connected monitors... however, doesn't hurt to try.

Suggestion 2: New graphic cards are quite a power-hungry monsters... are you sure your power supply is up to the task?
Your current configuration could help in this regard + the make, model and rated Wattage of your PSU.
