Question about HeatSafe ML250TPA Heater

Fluttering on 4th panel

When I turn my heater on, it seems to work fine. Then when it goes off automatically and comes back on, the 4th panel sputters and poofs, then all panels glow like it should. I took the noozle off and checked it out. It looked ok. No blockage. I took a small compressor on blew gently on the panels and the orfices. Tried again and still acts the same, when turning back on automaticlly. Bought last Spring, when the weather was getting warm. It acted the same, back then, but forgot about it. I did call either, ProComm or Habour Freight, but they didn't do me justice. Need help, Jim

Re: Fluttering on 4th panel

It sounds like either the heater needs to be cleaned, but it sounds like you did that already. It also could be a crack in the panel. If it is a crack you will need to replace all the plaques because you cannot buy them separately. Sometime it can be expensive. I hope this helps!

Why is my 5 brick propanes sputtering on setting 2 also the brick that the fluttering is coming from does not burn as bright as the others.

Hello George, I would suggest you check the gas supply tubes after the gas control for any obstructions such as a spider web that might restrict the gas flow to the bricks.

Why do I have to press the remote control several times (between 6 and 12) to get the gas heater to turn on? And when the temperature reaches the set point and turns off heater, it will not go back on...

The first thing I would do is make sure that your batteries are in good shape and that connection in the remote and baterry ends are clean.
You can easily clean the ends on your batteries by rubbing them briskly on a piece of denim or other semi rough cloth and use a fine grade of sandpaper to clean connections inside the remote. Thank you

My Heater kicks on but doesn't light. The AC Works fine, and the heater seems to work fine but won't light. It doesn't seem to be getting any Gas. I've checked the gas and it is turned on, I leave it...

One of three things, in this order:

Open the front access door and turn ON the heater.
Does the electronic ignitor turn a bright orange?
If not, then it is the ignitor.
If it does turn bright orange, check the thermocouple.
The thermocouple looks like a bare copper wire that is supposed to almost touch the ignitor.
It senses if the ignitor gets hot enough to ignite the gas.
If the thermocouple is loose or not mounted close to the ignitor, then re-position the thermocouple (it is not electrified; however, unplug power cord before doing this). It is also ok to bend the thermocouple if you are unable to loosen its mountiing bracket.
Plug power back on and turn on heater again.
If it fails to flame, you must call for service. The automatic gas valve is stuck. The valve cannot be safely "fixed", it must be replaced.
I hope its the thermocouple out of place.

Fine for about 2 minutes, then pops and sputters, tried new tank.

The filter in the regulator is most likely clogged or just about. It is located inside the small nipple that goes directly into the bottle. It looks like brass shavings. You MIGHT be able to clean it with carburator cleaner but usually, they need replaced. The slightest bit of moisture getting in will do this.

Tank-top propane unit won't stay lit

I had to replace the regulator. If you have a propane appliance shop near you, you can probably just get the nipple that goes into the bottle. It's aboit 3/16" diameter, 3/4" long and may have a 6 sided end up inside the screw on cap of the regulator.

Wall heater not working properly--sputtering blue flame

Ok, either your fuel pressure is too low or too high.. When you light the unit, Light it in low, then turn it up slowly Just crack open your tank valve.about1/4 turn. The air in the tubes has to be displaced with gas before you get a good flame

Will not stay lit.

Sounds like you have a blockage to the main jet. If you have a compressor just blow the jet out from the top and with a bit of luck it will clear it. If not you may need to remove the outer covering and find the pipe to the main jet and again using compressed air just blow it out. Usually not much goes wrong with these apart from blockages every now and then and most of the servicing places just blow them out with compressed air. Just make sure if you remove a pipe you tighten the pipe up properly when re-fitting it. Hope this helps

My honeywell heater was working one minute and not working the next.

HI I have this heater and no manual , and I was doing research on the internet and found that these haeters have an automatic shut off if it gets too hot and it wont come back on for a while until it is cooled down. I just unplug mine awhile or turn it off and then it comes back on when it cools down.
