You can always control mouse pointer motion (speed), by using Mouse Option in Control Pannel. Open Mouse option in control pannel. Here you can go to Pointor Motion, now move the slider to left side. Click on Apply and check mouse speed. When you get the required speed, Click OK.
simple test-- go to the mouse icon in the control panel set the double click speed to fast, if the problem persists contact logitech. if the problem stops then uninstall setpoint and download the latest version.
Please check whether there are any buttons on the side of the mouse you may be clicking these at the same time as you are single clicking.
You could also try going into Control Panel --> Mouse
Try Slowing down the double click speed
If that doesn't work try speeding it up
Another problem with a laser mouse is it jumps around the screen randomly if there is a pattern on your mouse mat or desk, or if either are too shiny or even glass as the laser reflects incorrectly on these type of surfaces.
