Camera B error for crystal XL 40

I have a problem of camera B not found error in my crystal XL 40. Infact the scanner was shipped from a different site, is it due to the teansportation.

You are right, it is very likely!. These type of scanners either use multiple cameras or use multiple mirrors to break a segment into a focussable area and do electronic stitching. (Electronic stitching is another painful area, the scanner has to 'create' a true image removing duplicate pixels). Also with Lens there is focal length aberration. Please note even the brochure carries the statement, "Torsion stabilised" suggesting that it is succeptible for misalignment. The mirrors are kept in position by rubber pads and tiny springs, but rubber pads being sensitive atmospheric variations, there can be focussing issues. Unfortunately you cant even kick the scanner accidentally or on purpose!

Can a realistic pro 55 model 20 124 be programmed to different frequencies?

Hello, your scanner appears to be a 10 channel crystal controlled scanner. I'm estimating it to be around 30-40 years old. I think there is a couple companies still making custom crystals but you have to find the freq's #'s to give them. Here is the freq. range it will pick up. Frequency range RX 30-50 / 144-174 / 450-512 MHz I personally would take the money spent for crystals and apply it towards a newer scanner that is programmable so no crystals needed. How to program a crystal realistic pro-54 scanner

If it is indeed a crystal controlled scanner then there is no programming involved. You have to remove a crystal and reinstall a different one with the freq. you need. There is a few places online that will still build you a new crystal/crystals. Won't be cheap, personally I'd spend the money for a new scanner. The old ones have went a little out of tune with heat and age.

Need a manual to program radio freq for a RCA four band veractor tuned scanner, this is not a gps but a radio scanner model # 16S400

Please excuse me if I've already answered your question -- it sounds familiar. The RCA 16S400 is a 70's-vintage crystal based scanner that covers the VHF-Low, VHF-High, and UHF bands using frequency-specific crystals. It is not programmable, but rather requires one crystal for each frequency to be scanned/tuned. It uses Regency-type crystals which can usually be found on eBay at reasonable prices.

When mixing crystal for different bands, your RX will be affected by the swap as well. I get this every once in a great while, if you want to ship it in I can do the alignments for you here at the shop. dodgem250.com
