Try driving up the steepest hill you can find. say approach it in 5th gear and halfway up stick it into 4th. if it feels like the car is never going to bite then the clutch is pretty gone.

On flat ground, dip the clutch and engage 3rd gear.try to pull off and if on lifting the clutch the car doesn't move and the revs simply spike, the clutch is well and truly gone.

How do we time a 1998 1999 106 peugeot diesel car

if i remember rightly then their are holes in the timing gears which you push a 8 mm drill bit through to lock the gear wheel for the timing pump and the camshaft into position ,the crankshaft keyway points to the top of the engine ,make sure you turn engine over 360 degrees after fitting the new belt by hand to ensure the valves clear ,look at the gears and the back behind the gears for the locating hole ,think the cam is 90,to the right and the pump is to the left m,sorry iam and suffering from old timers so memory is not what it was

I have a a peugeot 106 xn and am juist learning how to drive. whenever i'm at a traffic lights on a hill and want to start going, the engine tends to go out. I dont know whether i'm just going off the...

More revs and slower off the clutch. Takes some practice, maybe having an instructor gives you a false sense of security. Listen to the engine, shoudl not dip down too much when you start to pull away.

Vote for me, thanks :)

Does a 1997 peugeot 106 have a different fuse for the driver and passenger side on the central locking? The driver's side works, but the passenger side does not.

Hi no it should be a shared fuse. Your motor might have gone on one side, easy to replace though.

Hope this helps

Peugeot 106 1.5D. the clutch was slipping so new clutch fitted 2 weeks ago. It was still slipping so that garage replaced the clutch again. Guess what? It is still slipping. Any idea what is going on?

Yes clutch pedal should start to drive about 1inch off the floor and when driving keep your foot away from the pedal,/ also when new clutch is fitted did they fit a complete clutch assy /and did they surface grind the flywheel as if it was badly worn on the 1st one then the new one wouldent last very long.
as when the clutch starts to drive 1" from the floor clutch is good /when it engages right out its buggered and slips so ask about the f/wheel

It can be repaired. From what you have told me it coud be the clutch cable. At the worse it will be a new clutch. I hope you find this information helpful.
