Usb 4ports malfunctioned.not recognized.
BUT THE SYSTEM PROMPTS ME THAT IT IS READY TO USE (UNKNOWN DEVICE)
THAT THE SOFTWARE FOR THIS DEVICE IS SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED.

its in red led when i plug the device into it.why?

the unit Is : TOSHIBA SATELLITE A135-S2386 NOTEBOOK
PART NUMBER: PASD6U-01D00D

HOW TO FIX THIS? ANYONE CAN GIVE GOOD SOLUTION? OR ELSE I AM LOOKING FORWARD OF SOMEBODY CAN QOUTE FOR ME OF HOW MUCH IT COST FOR FIXING THIS PROBLEM.

    i did to check it in device manager.i done to disable and then enable it then update it.but still when i plug the device it say not recognized.and it just a red lid.unknown device the system say

Check if the USB drivers installed properly form device Manager in control panel.
If so please update driver from Toshiba web.

    Sound like the the USB port on your laptop was faulty,have to re-solder the pins of USB port on PCB/motherboard. But it only can be done by Component level repair tech and not cheap at all.

i ball tablet comes with a driver cd.. uninstall your usb unknown device and install the driver..it should work properly..

else connect to internet and update your diriver..

as for 2000 the same procedure will work...

have you tried putting it in a different usb port if you tried that try updating your computers usb drivers from the support site for the computer your trying to use the flash drives on

Sometimes XP may need a compatibility drivers.

i keen to to find that wich type of device you want to connect to the usb port. i think its a usb hard drive. if other please check this first.

My computer does not recognize my Creative zen


Go into device manager in control panel in add/remove hardware and find the usb port its plugged into and uninstall then reinstall the driver.

Windows not recognised


Press and hold the lower volume button and plug it in to the computer simultaneously and keep holding the minus button until a box appears where the message of usb device malfunctioned and click on it. Then follow the instructions and it should be recognized.
