I have no internet connection. One message says I need to reinstall my network adapter driver and another says my AVAST secureline is disconnected. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

You can run your own diagnostic through windows and most likely repair it automatically. Go to network sharing center and select trouble shoot. You can select many options including "network adaptor". Hope this helps

My soundcard isnt working on my computer is there a way i can fix it?

Hi,you can try this uninstall the sound card driver, then reboot your computer. When you reboot the computer the operating system will automatically reinstall the sound card driver.
This is how to uninstall the driver in windows 7,you didn't say what operating systyem you have so I'm hoping this helps.
Click start and open Control Panel by default the window will open in Category view (top right) click the arrow and slect Large icons.Once that is done look on that page for Device Manager and left click.
A new window will open called Device Manager, look for Sound,Video and game controlers and left click the arrow,You will see the installed Audio devices, right clicking the listed installed components will give the option to update or uninstall. After you finish uninstalling the driver or drivers reboot your computer windows will auto reinstall any needed drivers.I hope this has helped good luck.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling your SigmaTel

  • Hi, click on the "Start Button," in the (right pane) Control Panel, next in the category listings, select Hardware and Sound, open, and click on the "Manage Sound Devices." The Sound window will open; click on the "Playback" button, there should be a Speakers Icon, click on it, look below to find the "Properties button, click to open the next window. In the next window there will be (4) four buttons "General, Level... First click on the "General" button, in the top of the window there will be a "Driver" button, click on that button to open. Select to "Update Driver," just click on it, the [Drivers] will be updated for you. You can go back and press the other areas, Speaker Level etc... Next, if you have a "MIC" do the same for the (MIC) as you done for the "Speakers" in the [Recording] category. Note: "Remember to click on the "Apply and OK buttons afterward to make sure the changes take effect. "Restart the computer to finalize the changes. "Rate the solution on it helpfulness, its away of letting me know if you resolved the the problem or you need further assistance, thank you."

Just bought an eMachine (ET1831-03) with Windows Home Premium. Now my Lexmark Z700 doesnt work.(it is old, about 5 yrs) I get messages to trouble shoot, but when I follow this, I end up with the message...

As far as I can tell, Lexmark has not updated the drivers for this printer and has no plans to do so. You have a few choices: 1) upgrade your OS to either Win7 Professional or Win7 Ultimate, install the XP mode and then install the printer as a device on the virtual machine.
2) Get a new printer that is compatible with your OS.

I wish I could be of more help.

I have just loaded windows7 have no sound at all - usual troubleshooting doesnt fix problem cant see soundcard etc on device manager - please help

First run through the standard trouble shoot.
Don't be put off by the obvious nature of the standard trouble shoot. I have been on a number of calls that resulted in resolution because of a loose or damaged cable that just happened to coincidence with a system update.

1. Is the audio cable connected to the output.
2. If the audio output device requires power. Is it powered on?
3. If the 1 and 2 are AOK. Then follow the instrutions below.

1. Open control panel.
2. Open the device manager and double click the audio adapter.
3. Determine the make and model of the card. (Write this information down.)
4. Visit the manufacturer's website and click download drivers.
a) Select the card model.
b) Select the operating system.
c) select to download the driver.
5. Decompress the zip file and read the instructions for installation of the driver. Follow the instructions.

Alternative path to resolution.
1. Open control panel.
2. Open the device manager and double click the audio adapter.
3. Click advanced.
4. Make sure you have god connection to the internet. If so then proceed to clicking update driver.
When the system asks if you want it to search online or search locally tell it to look online. This will prompt a connection to MicroSoft (TM) that looks at the database for updates provided by hardware manufacturers.

Hope this gets you squared away.

Uninstall the new upgrade and see if it works better. If that doesn't help try uninstall/reinstall the printer software. I'm not sure if an MS Updae has caused this or not but I had trouble wih mine and just reinstalled it about 20 minutes ago but haven't tested it yet!
