Sir,

the player could be defective.

Before you take it back for a replacement, however, let me just go through the connections.

ONE: The outputs on the back of the player you are using are the composite video (yellow) and stereo audio (white and red for left and right audio).

TWO: These cables should be connected to the INPUTS on the tv that have corresponding connecctions; yellow to the video input (either 1, 2, or 3) and the audio to the same set of inputs. If you used the #3 input for video, then you must use the #3 input for the audio connections: Red to the right channel and white to the left channel inputs.

THREE: Then, the tv must be selected to the correct video input. If you used input #3, then you must tune the tv to video #3 input.

So, if you are sure you have the connections proper, still not worked, then the set is probably defective.

thanks
good luck

your fix for the Mintek LCD's which are frozen in the DVD mode. follow the procedure of attaching the
component wires directly to the component input terminal on the
motherboard. Problem is, on this model, there are only 2 non-flat
strands and 3 flat strands coming off the component input. Your
instructions said that there should be 3 of each and that the input
wires are to be connected to the non-flat strands and the grounds to
the flat strands. Each of the flat strands on the right & left are
long while the flat strand in the center is short. One of the non-flat
strands in directly between the left and middle flat strand. From this
arrangement it would seem logical that the three input wires should be
attached to the the corresponding flat strands and the 2 ground wires
from these input wires should both be attached the non-flat strand the
is between them while the 3rd input wire and ground wire should be
attached to the remaining flat strand and non-flat strand. Are you sure
that the input wires must be attached the the non-flat strands? If so
how should this be done given the set-up I described.

The following are the steps I did to fix the stuck DVD problem:

    I. Requirements

    a. Tools:

Phillips Screwdriver (magnetic head will be the best)

Tweezers - Only if you don't have a magnetic Phillips screwdriver

    Flashlight

    b. Surface:

Large flat padded table because you will need it to lay the TV - flat.

    c. People:

I did it by myself but having an extra hands is a plus.

    II. Instructions

    1. Disconnect power cord, power switch button "off" position, unplug cables and video cables from the unit.

    2. Place the TV unit flat on the surface - screen on the bottom - Back cover side facing up

    3. Back Stand: Remove the TV bracket stand in the back by unscrewing the 8 screws.

    4. Back Cover: Unsecured the back cover panel side of the unit - 9
screws (After unscrewing the screws you might need to use the tweezers
to lift and remove the screws.)

    5. Back Cover: Carefully lift (unlock) the back cover panel slightly
away from the screen unit slowly because it is wired to the circuit
board. In other words, you can't remove it completely which it is OK
and it is not necessary. This back cover panel removal sounds easy but
the cable coaxial connector blocks it and making it difficulty.
Therefore, you will have to wiggle the cover until it is free and away
    from the coaxial connector

because you will need some clearance space to access the DVD unit.

    6. DVD Unit: Unlock the DVD unit by unscrewing 4 (silver) screws.

    7. Now you are set and ready to release your stuck DVD.

An extra hands will be nice to have but two hands is a requirements to do the next couple of steps.

    8. DVD Unit:

On the front side, locate the two (black triangle-shape or arrow shape) slot holders.

They are in a locked position.

Using your fingers lift and hold both sloth holders in the up position.

(You might have to raise these holders (up and down) several times.)

As you are holding up these slot holders please perform the next step (#9).

    9. Power:

Push power button on the unit switch "on"

Plug back the power cord into the unit AC inlet

Unit Ready Light: "red" standby light is on

Remote Control: Press the power/DVD button - st the remote to DVD

    Unit Ready Light: "Green"

The remote for my Panasonic HT520 doesn't respond. When the CD-DVD button on the remote is pressed the lights come on on the remote, but still nothing from the player. The player works fine on it's own,...

Ok let me verify; you have an HT-520 home theatre with integrated DVD player. When you press the DVD input you can't control certain aspects of the DVD player or the DVD player does not respond at all?

Does the DVD respond at all if you put the remote into another mode (should be called Amp or Receiver)? Can your remote be programmed for different devices and mabe it was programmed to control a different DVD player?

I will search the unit in my knowledge base and let you know some exact steps to try. If you could clarify some of thoes details that would be wonderful.

Thanks,

Kevin

I want to hook a system

you will only be able to get digital surround( dolby digital ) from your dvd player( by the coax or optical digital connections ) , the rest will only be in virtual surround

from the dtv box plug the yellow video jack(RCA) into the vcr video input , then plug the audio jack or jacks into the audio input on the vcr. from the vcr hook the audio out to the audio in on the reciever( tv/vcr/sat... input ) , then also connect RF out from the VCR to RF in on the TV .
for the dvd player hook the "s-video out" to the "s-video in" on the tv , then the audio L and R on same s-video input , then send the audio out connection on tv to L and R input on reciever dvd L and R input , then you will need to connect the optical from the dvd player to the reciever or coax connections for the dolby digital on the reciever to work

I need a code # to program my Universal RCA remote for my Prima TV and my DVD player

I own a One-for-All universal remote, and my booklet says the setup code for a Prima TV ( without a built-in DVD or VCR) is one of the following numbers: 0761, 0783, 0815, 0817. I can not guarantee these numbers will work with your remote, but it is worth a try.
I assume your DVD has been attached separately, and not built into the TV. In some cases, you might not need an additional setup code. Once the TV has been turned on, you simply push the DVD button on your remote, to activate the DVD. The instructions which came with your remote and your DVD should provide you with more details. If the instructions indicate that an additional DVD setup code is required, then please respond by telling me the brand name of your DVD.

Mintek 26 inch LCD HDTV with built-in-DVD remote not working

The reason you can't pull-up the Mintek website is because the company is out of business. I have one that is frozen on one channel and none of the buttons or remote will work. I took it to a repair shop and the said one of the circuit boards is bad but since the company is out of business they can't get the needed part. The only way to get the part is to find a set which can be cannabalized for the needed parts.

Can you connect to upconversion DVD Player for HDMI performance

The TV supports 1080i so if your hardware is plugged into the Component Cable Connection for Digital TV on the back the signal will come out 1080i as long as the hardware supports the size.

For example, my 360 is connected like this and when the dvd player is in use it upscales from the 480 format dvds use to 1080. More on the HD-DVD for the 360 and how it handles the sizes here:
http://www.engadgethd.com/2006/09/21/xbox-360-hd-dvd-playback-maximum-1080i-via-component-1080p-vga/

Kind of an old article since the newer 360s have hdmi and support 1080p that route.

Hopefully this helps.

TV remote will not work properly

I have a Mitsubishi WD-52725 TV, too, and have experienced the same problems with it. My solution to the remote not responding is to push the reset button on the front of the TV (to the left of the Power button) with a paper clip and wait for the green light to stop blinking (about 1 minute). Then, turn it back on and try the remote again. Recently, my remote stopped responding when pushing certain buttons on it. I removed the batteries, and all of the little screws including the one inside the battery compartment and gently cleaned the contacts inside the remote and the circuit board with a cotton swab dipped in alcohol. After putting it back together, it works fine now.
